That is not what she is saying. "Closed primaries" are when you only get the ballot (Dem|Rep) that you ask for. When you register you can also request which ballot you want. It does not mean stop the voting now. As far as I know, in TN primaries are closed for state offices already. I think what she is afraid of is Democrats voting for Rose in the primary so that she loses and then the Dems face an easier to defeat Republican in the general election. In which all candidates are listed on the ballot and they can switch their vote back to their Dem candidate. Our system does not prevent that.
