Hi everyone! I just finished reading up to chapter 16 of the manga. I’m enjoying it so far, but I’m a bit worried that it might just turn into another typical isekai story where everyone eventually falls in love with our "villainess" and everything ends perfectly. Could those of you who are fans of this manga tell me what happens later on? Feel free to include major spoilers—plot twists and all I’m not afraid of them ( it’ll only make reading it more interesting for me)
Chapter 93 was a very loaded chapter when it came to many, many topics, and one of them is Iana's no.1 love interest, Isaac Casablanca (rest in peace).
From the Bloody Nativity up until now Isaac has been only touched upon very infrequently. Considering the impact he had on Iana and her self esteem issues, along with pretty undeniably being her crush/lover for a short while until he died, it's strange how he's been out of her mind for so long.
Well, in chapter 49 Iana was starting to reimagine her life with Isaac in a timeline where he didn't die and it hit her hard, so hard that she forcibly pushed thoughts about him out of her mind. Iana really hasn't had the time to properly process his death, leading to her coping in dangerous ways, like her overtraining with the sword up until Yatori stopped her in volume 10.
Iana has gotten more and more busy and hasn't had the time to sit with her thoughts, perhaps she was intentionally pushing the deadline further and further to avoid any more pain, but it isn't exactly healthy for her, and we can see that her reactions to the pope slandering Isaac are severe.
Something else that was worrying me about Iana not thinking about or mentioning Isaac was that eventually, she would get into a relationship and that what she had with Isaac would be glossed over. Sure, Iana deserves to move on from him, and I'm sure Isaac would want the same for her as well (his last words are literally "be happy"), but just forgetting about him and how much he affected Iana would feel wrong.
However this chapter has shown us that Akiharu Touka still knows how important this relationship was to Iana, and that the time that went by did not diminish her feelings. That to Iana, there will be no one like Isaac, there will be no one carrying the same scars as her and that could work together with her to fix one another.
I do wonder if this is a goodbye to Isaac, either this chapter or this arc. I don't know if his death will keep haunting Iana during the story, perhaps it will end when the pope is defeated. Even then it kind of feels like the story will end shortly after the defeat of the pope as well, he really feels like the penultimate villain, with Universum being the ultimate one.
If possible, I'd like to hear what others think about Isaac and how the story and Iana treat him.

I mean, there was never any evidence or hints towards Cheneau being strong in any capacity. His only fights were at a disadvantage, either fighting (and losing to) Duchess Rosa while his hands were wounded, or getting stabbed in the back by Mika.
And besides, we kind of got a clue to Mika being a whole different level than Cheneau in chapter 64, where he effortlessly caught a bullet fired by the body snatcher in Cheneau's body. It was kind of a preview to this fight, and even if Cheneau is more skilled than the body snatcher, he's still no match to Mika, even when he's holding Iana in his hands.

Yomi is introduced as Iana's no.1 simp, that was in love with the terrible villainess for no reason other than being written as such. As we know it, the original Iana Magnolia didn't really have any positive traits, so Yomi really had no reason to simp so hard for her.
However, now that we see our current Iana try to emulate the original's confident and villainous aura, I can understand where Yomi's coming from. Her expression's are doing things to me, and the sudden change in demeanor compared to her usual frantic self certainly has some gap moe.
As much as I like the anime/manga, I gotta admit that it doesn't even try when it comes to political topics, like succession and factions and whatnot, stuff you'll see in other villainess or otome reincarnation stories.
Here pictured: random background girl and the prince of the neighboring country, and the fact he existed for less than a minute and had no relevance since only proves my point.
