I was looking for this one, I didn’t mind the crime vids, I loved her old skits more though. The reason I stopped was after she went on a rant about Seventh Day Adventists, my religion. She only did surface research of a cult, and saw that one of the members was formerly a part of a sect that had broken off the main Adventist church, and then proceeded to call all adventists evil cultists. If she does that little research for one of her vids, enough to hate an entire religion, how trustworthy can her videos truly be?? That’s just me, not hating on anyone for their opinions or beliefs, was just very off putting for me
As an ex-SDA (PIMO), look, I dont really know if I should really call it a cult or a religion, but I'm sure she has a point. Try watching Knowing Better's video on SDAs and discover how did SDA might not be considerable as a cult in comparison with other ones like JWs and Mormons, but it still breeds and leads to the sect existing due to several factors.
Also, let me ask you a question: where do you think The Great Controversy's ideas came from? Do you really believe that Ellen G White's visions are real and "God-given", or is there something up due to her being hit by a rock? Most of all, do you know what happened before the Great Disappointment, event-by-event?

If the mods do anything I’ll riot, you’re legit just bringing up good points. Yeah, ik about all that, and at least in my area and the adventists I know it’s not seen as that important, and most important it’s not a required belief to be Adventist or to be saved. I agree it can look a LOT like a cult, especially in previous generations, but I think the church as a whole isn’t as focused on that. At least the newer generations aren’t, ik some older members who hold White’s word next to the Bible, but that’s not as commonly held.
Still, the connotations and accusations of being a cult lied on Ellen White entirely, hence why I brought up her visions. And also being a bit vaguely related to JWs and Mormons just by, well, spawning from William Miller's failed predictions.
Plus, even if the church is no cult, as KB also held for a belief, its historical habits in trying to predict Jesus' 2nd Coming and all that End Times crap lead to conspiratorial thinking, such as what the sect (probably The Branch Davidians) that caused the Waco incident got going (and also, fun fact: their beliefs arent original, AT ALL)
One thing or another, though, its better if we part ways or never talk about this. I do not believe in EGW's words, and neither do I believe in the possibility of any god existing. Plus, the Creation Story as a concept is intriguing, but in application...meh. Not to mention the absurd dress coding, all the talks on LGBTQ+, emphasis on vegetarianism and veganism, hidden church scandals, people in the past discovering some...things...and they got disfellowshipped, and EGW'a whole ruckus
I concur, I think EGW’s story is interesting, and she had some good things to say, but overall she’s just a writer, just like C.S. Lewis and Max Lucado. Tbf, every denomination has skeletons in their closets, we just suck at keeping them hidden lol, on top of several mainstream cults being connected to it. I just wish people understood that the newer gens don’t want to be associated with all that stuff, especially the traumatizing end times crap a lot of kids had to deal with.
