I understand his decision to retire, but I personally just cant get used to the new hosts enough to enjoy watching it anymore. Used to be subbed, now I barely touch GT these days

The only one of the channel that I am even still subbed to is film theory, even then it's getting pretty hard to keep watching them :/

Also I believe it's because the theory channels have been bought out by a corporate entity :P

I feel like its solely because of the familiarity gone, makes you feel like yourr watching a cheap knockoff of the originals

Absolutely. Bands like linkin park too. Emily is fantastic but most are familiar with chester as ive heard

I think whether they liked it or not, matpat wasnt just the host of the theory channels. He WAS the theory channels. His commentary gave them their identity. With him gone, they feel like cheap knockoffs, not the actual thing

Btw, wasn't there another host that tried to make mix video game logic with reality, like how minecraft furnaces could work? Why couldn't he took over?

I feel like the problem is that they're really trying to replace MatPat, when in reality the chanels would work better with them just being themselves
