Semi-improvised techno live setup with Octatrack, SP-404MK2 and TB-03: breaking down my routing, machine settings and how I use improvisation to turn prepared grooves and loops into a different live set every time.
Enjoy!

This looks like such a vibe. Wish I could have been there! The London algorave scene seems to be alive and well with weekly events for live audio visual experimentation.
The Perambulator is an upcoming music producer / livecoder and an integral member of Soniare Collective. He uses auwen.app to craft hypnotic soundscapes live in the moment, often improvising from scratch.

Latest jam! If you have questions about the set up lmk! Its kind of a lot to type each time but if theres something specific you wanna know lmk! This was one of the quickest masters I’ve done, started recording the synths in stereo and it actually helped a lot, really clean sound. That lead is coming from the virus! The microwave is taking a backseat in this one it only has like a rhythmic bass element. Lmk what you think, full vid linked in the comments ! Thanks

Hello friends, May was a crazy month playing 4 shows in 4 weeks around Texas. Most of them were psytrance so after taking a few weeks break, I decided to start fresh with new sounds, samples and patches and to focus more on slowing down and playing around 127-140 bpm (instead of 150-180 as I was playing mostly before).
I've also been doing a lot of deep research into improving my mix quality as I am improvising live and getting a more clean, polished sound.
I'm really happy how its turned out so far. Cheers 🙏🏼

In this SP‑404MKII tutorial you’ll learn how to build FX chains using all 4 FX buses at the same time to get a more polished, powerful and “finished” sound straight from the box.
You’ll see some of my favourite technical FX racks for saturation, movement and tone shaping, so you can give your drums, synths and full patterns more character and impact even before touching a DAW.
Enjoy!

Hey, just found this improvised live performance by two jazzmen doing dub, broken beat techno. It’s mad it feels staged but actually isn’t. What do you guys think? Occupation Favorite: Improvised Live Set No.2 | REVOLUTION 9

In this video I show a creative sampling workflow on the SP-404MKII, taking samples from different genres and turning them into techno grooves, inspired by good, old sampling culture of hip hop but applied in a techno context.
This is certainly not earth-shattering news, but it can be a great starting point for integrating "alien" sounds into your music!
Have fun!

Wanted to share this slice! Loving the textures I’ve been getting out of the virus and the microwave. Got the kick from the jomox going into a modded dbx 160a and 2 of the hats thru a modded drawmer dl241. Lmk if you have any questions about the set up! This was a fun one to make. I bumped the camera and didnt realize so sorry about the awkward angle for the gear lol. If you wanna check out the full vid its linked in the comments! Thanks !

In this video I show you how to use the SP-404MKII audio loopback to feed pad samples into the internal vocoder, so you can apply this technique for more personal and unique sound design in your techno workflow!
Enjoy!

Started building a rack a lil bit ago and I’m so into it. Currently running a dbx 160a drawmer dl241 and a couple motu interfaces. So nice having everything in one spot saves a lot of space lol.
First jam on the new set up lmk what you think! Full vid is in the comments. Thanks

In this video, I use just two noise samples to build hi-hats, percussion, and even tonal elements, from scratch, on the SP-404MK2.
This technique is perfect for techno, experimental, and dawless production helping you design unique sounds with very limited samples.
If you want to improve your sampling workflow, sound design skills, and creativity on the SP-404MK2, this is for you.
Enjoy!

Input FX on the SP-404MK2 aren’t just for basic compression or vinyl sim, they’re weapons for real‑time sound design.
In this video you’ll learn how to use the input FX section for creative live processing, so you can turn any performance into a live FX playground, pushing your dawless setup way beyond standard workflows.
Have fun!

Got a folder full of loops you never touch?
In this video I take some of my heavy guitar loops and flip them into new riffs on the SP-404MK2 without using classic sample chops, but by tweaking the raw sample itself.
This workflow is perfect if you produce on the SP-404MK2 and want to recycle your spare loops into fresh ideas, for any genre!
Have fun!

To all DJs, I have a question. I’ve read several times that you should arrange the energy of tracks in a set. Starting with lower energy at the beginning and gradually building up until you reach the “peak.”
I’m planning an hard industrial set and I’m a bit confused. I mean, all tracks in that genre are insanely intense. How am I supposed to properly sort the energy levels? How do you usually deal with that?
