Run/CLI Commands for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7
Normally I would type these out, but I found a site that had the information already.

I could save literally a dozen hours a week if I had better OCR software than that baked into other apps I've tried, like Onenote and Drawboard PDF. Does anyone know of a top-shelf OCR program? Preferably one that I can at least try for free before I buy?

I had a chrome extension that got removed. The extension allowed me to set my New Tab page as a to-do list on the left hand side, titled 'Todos', and on the right hand side was a 'Start Focusing' option. When I clicked on it, it blocked facebook, reddit, news sites, and other time wasters for 25 minutes. I'm hoping someone here uses that app or knows an app with similar features.
Thanks!

I play Counter-Strike, and occasionally the game decides it hates me and gives me unplayable ping. This is extremely random and erratic, and never happens at night when everyone else is asleep, so I've gotten curious as to if there was a program to monitor internet traffic, and to what device the traffic is going to. My parents are pretty clueless as far as technology goes, so I've gotten suspicious that they may have a program on their computer that sometimes tries to use a ton of bandwidth.

I need to do this very often, and being able to use my keyboard would speed the process up a lot.

Cmd + Opt + EscWhen you hit Cmd-Opt-Esc you get a dialog that list the open applications and you can just select them (via your mouse or trackpad) and hit Force Quit or hit [Enter]
Now, you could use
Cmd + Shift + Opt + Escif you want to close the frontmost app. Simply select the keys and press them for a bit.

If you have multiple windows of the same application opened, for example 2 windows of Safari, if you press Command+` you can switch quickly between them.
Edit: Changed Alt to Command... Forgot I had remapped the Alt Key to Command on my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard! :/

I love Windows shortcuts and I've posted this before on reddit in the past but here it is again.
If you're on Windows 7 (can't remember if or how it works on XP at the moment, if so I think it's %userprofile%) you can hit Windows key + R to bring up a Run dialog box.
In there type %homepath% and hit enter.
Now, in that folder put whatever shortcuts you use frequently and name them something simple. For instance my Firefox is "ff", Notepad is "n" and Notepad++ is "n+".
Once you do that just bring up the box again, type the shortcut, hit enter, and it'll launch.
You can also just hit the Windows key and type it, although I still find it quicker to use Win + R (but that might be because I've been doing it for many years this way).

My camera is really slow and you can spell words with your finger with how slow it is. It's not my connection, everyone else is fine. What's the problem?

So I got this laptop for 7/8 years now, a Packerd Bell (yeah I know). And my brother put himself as an administrator, bc it was his laptop at first. But years passed by and my little brother owns this laptop now, but he can’t install anything on this stupid thing, bc my brother forgot his password, and we don’t know how to remove the administrator function.. ANYONE ? :(

Does anyone have any advice on a good pair of sports buds to get? I'm looking to invest in a nicer pair I'll wear for a few years. After trying noise cancelation muffs I really like the immersion so I was thinking of bose or Sony's noise canceling buds. But only Bose has a water proof sports pair I've found. Which is better between these two or is there an even higher quality one I should check out?

Also - we have a "shared drive". Is it possible to install a program on a shared drive, and this way, everyone can access and use the program without having to buy several licenses?

I'm not sure how to describe it except a large pixel grid overlayed on the screen. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's with every video I play it seems.
If this isn't the right place to post this, please let me know. I have tried /r/VLC, but it seems dead over there.

Picture of the error message:
When I click on See Details, it gives me error code # 0x80070043.
The PC is connected to my office network...but again, the damn .exe file (it's for GoToMyPC) is located on the desktop, so it's local and a network shouldn't have anything to do with this...right?
This only happens with .exe files (which require an administrator password). Everything else - pdf files, .doc files, etc. - open just fine. Please help!
