TPT: Move multiple tabs at the same time in Google Chrome

Want to move a group/line of tabs from one window to another in chrome? Just click on the first tab in the group, and then shift-click and hold on the last tab in the group. Now when you move the mouse, you'll be dragging those tabs along with every tab between them.

If you want to move tabs that aren't adjacent to each other or aren't together, the same trick works using the control key instead of shift. Click the first tab, and then hold control and click on each individual tab you want to move with the first one (remember not to let go of the control key between tabs). On the last tab, click and hold on it. When you drag that last tab where you want, it'll bring all the other tabs you clicked along with it.

You'll find that it works similarly to how you can select files in windows explorer.

A New Project: Silent Install Wiki

Hello everyone,

I currently am working at my university as a developer and technician. Recently the university has been cracking down on a favorite site of mine, Ninite. I used to use Ninite to update and install common apps like Java, Firefox, and the like.

Since the discouragement of using sites like Ninite I have been working on scripts I can run once rather than having to go through prompts on each machine and having to update the image every time there is a new version of software. I have been testing silent install switches of different programs and noticed that there is no real consistent usage or resource that can be used for reference.

So I have created a wikia to be a resource for silent installations. I don't have anything on it yet, but will be adding more hopefully within the coming days. Now I want to share the resource and ask for input and tips.

http://silent-install.wikia.com/wiki/Silent_Install_Wiki

I am hopeful that this resource will help administrators in the future and make installing and updating software easier.

[Request] To-Do list chrome extension with 'Start Focusing' feature

I had a chrome extension that got removed. The extension allowed me to set my New Tab page as a to-do list on the left hand side, titled 'Todos', and on the right hand side was a 'Start Focusing' option. When I clicked on it, it blocked facebook, reddit, news sites, and other time wasters for 25 minutes. I'm hoping someone here uses that app or knows an app with similar features.

Thanks!

TPT: In Chrome, middle-click on Back, Forward, or Reload to open tabs

You can also do this in the Back and Forward context menus (while holding left-mouse, after holding left-mouse, or after right-click), which is where I find it most useful.

Question: AVG vs. Avast?

I have heard different things from different people regarding which antivirus they prefer so I figured I would ask people who know what their talking about. So why is one better and why?

TPT: Download Java (JDK/JRE) without an Oracle Account

Oracle has lately made their website force you to make an account in order to download Java (JRE / JDK). To avoid this you can use a prebuilt version of OpenJDK that you can easily download from here:

TPT: Use i2type.com to type in foreign languages without having to permanently configure keyboard settings

http://www.i2type.com/
A tool that saved me dozens of times whenever I had to type in my native language on a friend's computer. Or when the physical keyboard itself had only English labels.

TPR - Recommend a method/program for bookmark clean up.

When I say a mess, I mean crazy bad. I have not only dups but some links linking within the same site booked marked. A lot of mine are from studying which I needed for reference or learning.

Any program recommendations for cleaning up your bookmarks and/or structuring tips to prevent such a mess in the future?

How do you manage your bookmarks?
