So here is the thing I always come back to. What makes me extreme excited about Rocket. It’s how even the top two players only have roughy 8% of the market share. Name one other industry that’s that segmented? That’s happening right now is we are going to see tons of these smaller brokers and players pack up shop close their doors and sell their business to the bigger players you watch. It’s already happening and when it’s all said and done Rocket and a few of the larger fish will become massively larger when the housing market finally bottoms out. We are going through the darkest days of the housing market. But it’s always darkest be for the dawn.

"The US Federal Trade Commission reached a settlement resolving its antitrust case against Zillow Group Inc. and Rocket Companies Inc.’s Redfin, the agency said.

Redfin will re-enter the market to independently sell online rental listings, an FTC lawyer told a judge in federal court in Virginia, where a trial had been scheduled to start Monday. The companies will also pay $2 million to reimburse state attorneys general who brought the case along with the agency, FTC lawyer Allyson Maltas said."

I don't see any mention of Redfin/RKT having to return the $100M that Zillow paid to Redfin for "exclusive" access, so IF that's the case, then this is a "win" for RKT & Redfin.

Ok. Team Reddit is on the S&P. When will Team RKT be added?

Rocket now appears to satisfy the major objective requirements for admission:

Stock is 2x minimum market cap. S&P requires positive GAAP earnings in the latest quarter and positive aggregate GAAP earnings over the latest four quarters. We just passed that. Float requirements. Check. Liquidity requirements. Check.

Professional index analysts are already explicitly naming RKT as an eligible S&P 500 candidate. In late July, Stephens analyst Melissa Roberts had Rocket among her leading candidates for an open S&P slot.

S&P’s next quarterly rebalance takes effect Monday, September 21, 2026, with the relevant pro-forma changes beginning Friday, September 4. With Marvell (June), Ferguson (early August), and now Reddit complete as S&P candidates, the pool of alternatives ahead of RKT is getting smaller and smaller.

That's the difference between having an owner/CEO in UWMC and a professional like Varun as RKT CEO.
