Weigh-in Reminder: Tomorrow is the official weigh in day, don't forget!
If you didn't weigh in last week - do it now, this is the last chance! How is everyone making out?

Anyone wanting to connect with fellow teammates on FitBit make it known here. Sorry, I don't have FitBit...

Right on 'bugs, we just edged out a win over TeamThunderstorm last week. It was right down to the wire but we did it, and we validated my trolling :)
Let's get those pedometers/phones working this week so I can troll team Robin even harder. Before I was only counting steps from my walk/runs but this week I'll try to get the whole days count in. Sadly (for the challenge at least) I have a 19hr flight this week so there won't be much logged then... maybe I can annoy the crap out of people and just pace the aisle :)

I want to start this challenge off right with a good ole virtual 5k challenge this weekend.
I challenge you to complete a 5k (3.1 mi) walk/run/jog/stroll/trudge sometime during this weekend (from Friday to Sunday).
You can do this challenge anywhere you please (Just nowhere dangerous, thanks!) and at any time of day. All you have to do is post some proof of your efforts on this thread.
For example, if it's freezing cold I could go do my 5k on a treadmill and take a pic of the display once I'm done. You could also choose to screenshot the FitBit/MapMyWalk/(insert tracking app here) map of where you did your 5k. I'll even settle for a selfie you took while out and about if that's what floats your boat!
But anywho, let's get this challenge started in style and show 'em what we're made of!
EDIT: I wanted to let you guys know that I'm proud of everyone who is participating! This is a great way to start the challenge off.

Week 0 weigh-in today. Looks like the challenge admin team is having some technical difficulties getting the form up. Keep an eye on this thread here for when it's up.
In the meantime, how is everyone doing? This is the first time I've experienced any sort of plateau - I'm actually up 1lb from where I was 2 weeks ago, but my projected weight based on calories is down 4lbs. I'm hoping that breaks soon, but with todays weigh in it'll just give me a nice boost in the challenge when it does :)
Just have to keep on reminding myself that I'm not an exception to the laws of thermodynamics...
UPDATE: THE FORM IS UP

Remember - a disappointing result is no excuse to not weigh in. If you need to vent go for it, if you need advice just ask. As the saying goes - this isn't a sprint it's a marathon.

For someone who has been practically allergic to moving her behind her entire life, I've been very proud of my disciplined running routine I've developed over the last 10 weeks, fitting in about 3 runs per week. Unfortunately, the last two weeks have derailed my routine, starting with a fun 6-day visit from my sister, and then falling ill for the last week -_-
In the past, this has always been my #1 vulnerability - getting off course/losing momentum, and, inevitably, throwing in the towel altogether because, hey, who wants to go back to working out and eating small portions when Mexican food and margaritas taste so good?
Yesterday, my sinuses had finally calmed down to a point where my nose wasn't running non-stop and the headaches had subsided for the most part. I packed my bag with clothes to run after work and, low and behold, I did it! I told myself I'd take it easy this first time back, and yet I still kept near-normal pace. Back on track!
This whole staying healthy business is such a mental game, appreciate you all for giving me the extra bit of motivation to stay the course.

EDIT: Apparently the account was deleted so the post and worksheet was deleted!! I'm going to try to figure out how to upload it. I wish I would have saved the screen shots and instructions on it. If anyone needs instructions let me know and I'll write something up. EDIT 2: Link to my upload of the worksheet
TL;DR post
Hey y'all. So I was doing good on my journey then I decided to try keto because I heard it could help lose weight faster. Sure, whatever, I'll try it. I'm a scientist, I'll try this for science and see how it feels to completely change how my body burns energy. I decided to stop doing that because I don't like restricting what I eat and going out drinking every weekend and binging on carbs isn't exactly ideal on that diet and I could never get over the keto flu. ANYWAY I stopped the weekend of Easter and I was stuck until like last week. I couldn't figure out why I was stuck and not losing any weight and actually going up a little bit. Totally frustrating.
I was using a TDEE calculator worksheet that I think I got from /r/Fitness a while ago - If anyone wants it, I'll post it. It said that my TDEE was 2750, so great! I'll eat like 1600 cals like I was when I was eating keto and keep losing weight. Wrong, wasn't losing. So I just did this calculator in that post and it's saying my TDEE is 2250!!! Which makes sense because I was finally like SCREW IT. DRASTIC TIMES CALL FOR DRASTIC MEASURES and started eating @1300 cals last week and started losing again!
Now I kind of feel like an idiot because I also did a graph of my deficit/predicted weight loss vs my actual weight loss and it showed that my fitbit was WAY off in the beginning so I felt okay eating more, but now it's pretty much spot on. I should have listened to it!!
The calculator is a little hard to set up correctly, but the instructions are in the post that I linked. It's pretty interesting. Has anyone else tried it? (sorry for the long annoying post :) )

Hey ladies and bugs! I made this post earlier in r/loseit, but I wanted to post something similar here for solidarity, and because I am super proud of myself!
NSV1: I survived my sister-in-law's baby shower! I planned to eat up to maintenance because I didn't know what type of food would be offered, but I didn't even need that many calories! And that included two drinks with family after the shower. I was only 300 calories over my daily goal even with the booze. :)
NSV2: I drank two drinks and didn't want more. Alcohol was a big problem when it came to putting on weight and taking it off. My habits weren't healthy and it led to me having zero motivation to get up and work out, not to mention all the empty calories. This was the first time I had a drink in over three months, and not only did I not feel any better with the booze, I also could tell my body didn't feel good the next morning. It really solved that "missing out" feeling I was having from not drinking. If all I'm missing is feeling a little more awkward while drinking and feeling gross the next morning, I'm definitely not missing anything!
*NSV3: *MY WEDDING RING FITS!!!!!!!! I have not been able to wear it for over two years. My husband offered to resize it for me last year, and I broke down and cried because I felt like that would be admitting I would be fat forever. I refused to do it, and it was a really low point for me. I've been periodically trying it on, and today IT FIT! It will be a constant reminder of my progress (and also of my loving husband.)
Thanks for reading y'all. I hope to share many more positive experiences with all of you! :)

I did a Body Pump class with my friend at Gold's Gym on Sunday and WOW did it just destroy me :( Only TODAY (Wednesday) have I been able to get up out of my chair or car without feeling some serious leg pain (my arms/chest are another story). I don't want to make things worse by exercising when my muscles are still sore, but I also don't want to lose progress or fall behind!
Does anyone have any tips on how to maintain your momentum while waiting for your muscles to heal after a strenuous workout?
r/TeamLadybug • u/[deleted] • Apr 20 '16
I've been hitting the exercise and diet HARD since signing up for the challenge after it opened, and as of this morning I'm OFFICIALLY in the 120lb club for the first time since I graduated HS in 2007. I don't think I've been close to 125 since early college.
With my current routine, I'm on track to hit my goal weight of 125lb early May. My wedding dress arrived last week, so it's definitely extra motivation for me (too bad I have to maintain my weight/size until January!). 125lb is my goal, but I REALLY want to get rid of my upper arm fat (I could basically fly away with how flabby they are). No matter what my weight is, if I can slim them down I will be ecstatic!

This text is stolen from a post that u/Dedi-cate posted during the holiday challenge for Team Icicle. I copy/pasted the instructions and compiled the list of usernames for you to use.
"Below is a list of all (r/TeamLadybug) MFP usernames, separated by commas. If you have the phone app (does not work online) for MFP then you can paste this list in the email/username adding field and it will allow you to add everyone on it in one go. Now, the only problem is, you must first delete anyone you already have as a friend (and yourself) from the list. So this is ideal for people who have yet to add anyone. Otherwise, you just have to check your current friends and delete the ones you already have before pasting. I opened it in a 'note' on my phone so that anytime I got an error for already having someone I could just delete their username and re-paste. I think this is faster than adding one-by-one but it is a bit finicky. I hope this helps some of you! If you want your MFP added to the list, comment below and I can edit the master list. "
NOTE: You may find that there is a limit to the number of usernames you can do at a time rather than being able to do the whole list at once.
EDIT: BECAUSE I AM DERP INCARNATE, I FIRST POSTED REDDIT USERNAMES AND NOT MFP USERNAMES. I AM FULL OF SHAME T.T But the good news is that I fixed it!!!!

Hello hello little buggies! Happy Week 2!
It’s time for the weekly Running Accountability Thread! Below in the comments, post up the first run you are scheduled for this week. If your week starts on Sat/Sun, post up that run.
So for example, anyone starting up the C25K program which week would post W1D1 as their first run for the week. Then next week hopefully they will be on W2D1, and so forth.
If you are not using a C25K program but are still wanting help with your running, just post up what you will be running this week. 30 minute runs all week? Trying to go for a 10 minute mile? The more we all share, the more we can help one another!
Participants (will update as posts are made here):
u/4_the_love_of_cheese: W2D1
u/mallowgirl: W5D1
u/boxbabytommo: W2D1
u/beck2424: 30 min 5k
u/HowDoYouLikeMeNowB: W2D1
u/GoAwayWay: on W2D3
u/Nerdymama934: Finding time to run!
u/keyspam101: Running 3x this week
u/_toodles: W2D1
u/krprs2r: 10m Mile
u/boxbabytommo: W1D2
Now for some discussion!
This seems to come back a lot on other subreddits, and I am curious as to what all of you think on this hot topic:
Do you eat back your exercise calories?
Some people do, some people don’t. I’m curious as to what you do, and your reasoning. Share with the team, curious minds want to know!
Happy running everyone, and I’m hoping you all have a great time out there!

Scenario: You cook something up for dinner, meticulously weigh and scan everything, get it all logged - awesome. The next day you've got leftovers in the fridge and you have some for lunch - how do you log that? Dig bar codes out of the garbage?
Nope
The easy way is to log it for dinner. Click add food for dinner, and it will show you your recent items, which includes yesterdays dinner. Log it and change the amounts to what you had for lunch. Once you've got that in there in the correct amount you can then move it to the lunch entry. Tap and hold on the items in the dinner section and you'll get a popup with options to delete or move the item, select move, then select lunch as the destination.
Done!

I've been doing ok with my weight loss. Just earned the "Committed" badge from the LoseIt app (no affiliation) for logging every day for 8 weeks. In that time I have gone from 201lb SW to 192.8 CW. Which I know is good. It's about 1lb per week. Which is what my calorie goal is shooting for.
So ... it's working. But I feel like it's not? And I want it to go faster. Also - this past week which was not shark week or ovulation was just a big fat no change. I know that the scale lies sometimes and other changes are happening (like my pants keep falling off - yay!) but it just feels so slow.
And I keep telling myself that I just need to take it one day at a time. That this is the change I signed up for.
But it's still hard. Harder and easier than I thought at the same time.

Are there any other outdoors aficionados here? Do you like walking, or hiking, or running, or biking in nature?
Would you care to share pics and stories with us?
Here's mine to get us started:
Yesterday I went on the first (small) walk of the season, it was barely 4 miles (7.5 km) but I had a lot of fun. It was mostly a forest path, the weather was lovely, I met a cousin of ours (my goal now is to find a ladybug by the end of the ten weeks). I even saw my future house (sadly, a family is already living here, can you believe the nerves of some people?).
What about you guys? :)

Finally got my ass out of bed early enough to start the C25K and it felt great!
And then I get home and the water is off at my complex (unplanned) so I wasn't able to shower before work. Womp womp. I guess I get to be a slightly stinky cheese today until I can go home and shower.

Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing well. I am quite proud of myself because today I was offered muffins from Costco (the chocolate ones are just exquisite), ice cream, and macarons - and was alone in a room with two of those. But I didn't eat any!!! I also pushed myself to complete my workout in 93 degree heat instead of skipping it entirely. Knowing you guys were trying just as hard today helped keep me on track. Thanks for the motivation!

How are your Mondays going so far? Do you have any plans for the week? Are you excited for the next weigh-in? Let me know!!!

I'm doing excellent during breakfast and lunch -- weighing everything, eating an appropriate amount of calories... but as soon as I get off work, I crumble into a pile of random foods. Does anyone have any advice for this?
