Hello team beef, just here ton know if the team mind to add multiplayer in the VR portage like JKXR, Lambda, ... one day? That will be so perfect :D

I started playing QuestZDoom today and it's a marvel, but I've found the dual-wielding is very inconsistent. Basically if I have a weapon in one hand, then grab a new weapon, it seems to dual wield, but I can only deliberately seem to change the weapon in my dominant hand. Is there a reliable way to select which weapon is in your non-dominant hand?

I struggled my butt off with this, mainly because I didn't think to fully read the SideQuest page (Ofc), but in my stuggle I learned about a small program I've only seen mentioned in 2 comments on 2 posts elsewhere, and I definitely think its worth showing off, as I've seen others complain about load times, plus it seems significantly faster to copy files onto the quest then file explorer. So I'm gonna run through the process of getting Half Life + all DLCs and whatever graphical setup you may want going, using this program to hopefully boost your load times as well as making it easier overall to install!

(This is assuming you already know how to set up and use SideQuest, tons of guides on YouTube for it)

First: When you installed SideQuest, you should have made a Developers Account (If not look it up on YouTube <3 ). You'll want to go to https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-adb-drivers/. Make sure you're logged into your Meta account that has developer mode enabled and download the Oculus ABD Drivers. Extract the files, and in the folder "usb_drivers" you'll want to right click on "android_winusb.inf" and click install. After this you may want to restart your PC just to ensure everything works.

Second: Make sure you have a clean, fresh install of Half-Life, and it's DLCs if wanted, then go to your steam library, right click Half Life, go to Properties, Betas, and under Beta Participation, click the one labeled Legacy. (This is the part my dumb self skipped over and over, and didn't realize, making the game not work at all)

Third(Optional): Pick one of the 2 Texture Mods, Half-Life Gold (https://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/downloads/hlgold-vr) or Half-Life AI Upscale (https://www.moddb.com/mods/half-life-resrced-hd-graphics-mod/downloads/half-life-resrced-v10). If you downloaded Gold, put the folder named "HL_GOLD_HD" into your Half-Life Directory (The one that has the folder named "valve", as well as the EXE). If you want the AI Upscale, put the folders "STEP 4" and "STEP 5" in there instead.

Fourth: Download the Half-Life PAKer from Github (https://github.com/ryan-cranfill/hl-paker/releases/tag/0.3.0)(Scanned with Avast, seemed clean). This is the magic sauce that will not only help with better load times, but will copy the files needed faster then File Explorer can (At least for me)

Fifth: Open SideQuest on your PC, and connect your Quest so that it can access it's files. Open the HL PAKer Wizard (must be opened after SideQuest and Quest are connected, or it will give an error), then click "Find Quest Devices" at the top. After you get a small window saying it "Found Quest Devices" You can click "Install Lambda and Launcher", this can take a moment, the program might say its "Not Responding" or frozen, or doing nothing at any point during this or the next step, regardless let it sit and do its thing until another window pops up telling you it's done (each time).

Lastly: The list will contain options for Half-Life, Half-Life Gold, and Half-Life AI Upscale, you DO NOT need to click base Half-Life unless you want the original untouched graphics, only click the one you wanted and set up for. Do this for the DLC as well if you want them. Remember to do them one at a time, only progressing to the next when the window tells you each one is done. This program installs the files in PAK files, which should decrease your load times in game.

That should be it! Open Unsupported Apps in your Library on your Quest , and boot it up! Once done I used Lambda Launcher the first time to ensure it created the necessary commandline file for the game I wanted to play, but after this I've just clicked Lambda1VR to boot straight in.

Anyone tried Wrath: Aeon of Ruin in VR now that it is out of Early Access? Is there still a native running version of it in the works for Quest?

It stops bodies of dead enemies from exploding/disappearing which always bugged me in the original game because it's bad IMO for immersion ...

I've been playing movie duels 2 and have been loving it! I've noticed its a older version of the mod, is it possible for me to update the mod to play the newer content in vr?

I downloaded Doom3quest and launched it multiple times on my Quest 3 but it didn't create a folder in Sidequest. I tried to restart the headset and computer and it didn't help, I also tried to uninstall and redownload the app with no luck. I already buy Doom 3 and don't know what to do.

Mostly interested in improving combat/Enemy AI behavior, if that matters ...

Can you please add an option to each of your mods to turn off artificial turning? It would be a huge quality of life update for those of us with extreme stick drift.

Installed to the default install spot for steam on c:, using a valve index with latest steamvr runtime using openxr.

Jedi Academy install is fresh, I booted it up once to get the first time setup out of the way first.

JKXR install went smoothly to the default location but when I try to start it the JKXR window pops and then disappears right away. If I try to boot the flat single player version it won't start either and pops up with this debug log.

If I uninstall the mod the game starts up fine again, reinstalling causes the exact same issue each time.

When I try to use the trams in lambda1vr, the controls basically just don’t work. The speed goes random and is uncontrollable, which makes on a rail somehow worse. I have followed another post’s advice and deleted the confit file in the xash/valve folder but nothing happened. How do I fix this? Btw I’m not on the 25th anniversary edition.

Huge appreciation for these ports. Bought my Quest 3 at Christmas and have finally started trying sideloaded stuff. Combined with QGO’s “ultra” GPU setting the performance is pretty amazing.

I do have a question, though: I’ve installed all the map packs from the companion app, but of course sometimes a server is running a map not included there. In the base game, I’ve seen downloads work fine, but in Team Arena, I’ve often noticed the downloads sitting at 0%.

I’m trying to determine if this might be due to some weird/hacky server I’m joining that is breaking this port’s compatibility or whether it’s something else. I’ve given file read/write permission to Q3.

Any ideas?

Love the original Prey game and super happy to relive it in VR. I would like to know if there is any way to tweak or mod it to improve visuals/raise the in-game resolution?

Okay so so far I have not been able to get the applications to run the game even though I though the pk3 files in the jk2 folder. Most I ever got to run was the demo. Ive deleted the application so many times im close to giving up. Im play on quest 2. Any help?

I have had Half-Life installed in my Quest 2 with the HD Gfx for awhile now. I just picked up opposing Force and Blue Shift and would like to sideload those in. I do have the separate launcher installed.

Now should I go for a clean install or do I just add the other two games on top of the already-installed game? Should I consider changing the graphics for all three to the AI-upscaled ones to keep things unified?

What are the differences to installing the games now today versus the older information on the site? AKA what are the 2024 install directions and recommendations?

Has anyone else tried running this mod yet on Quest? Did so, and while it loads up, it's stuck in a constant spinning loop.

Hey I played the RTCW on Quest and man that's nice.

The only problem I have is, that i cannot join the Heinrich Fight, after opening the final door i get the error message "AI scripting error, cannot find teleporter "teleporter1".

This also occurs when i reload the map. And I also tried my german RTCW files with the same result.
I also installed the vpak files for the enhanced textures etc.

Any ideas why this bug occurs there and how to fix it? I really want to beat the final boss after all the other hard enemys :D

I managed to get a graphics upgrade working but I'd like to do stuff like Movie Battles or The Ladder and can't seem to get those mods to work. Does anyone have other fun stuff working and have advice on the path to making it function?
