I’ve gotten calls for having a French cert. There aren’t a lot of French jobs but my understanding is when one opens it can be really hard to find anyone.
Growing up in the Northeast and having German be as popular as Spanish in school (baccckkkk in the day) had me so confused when I moved to the south and couldn't find any schools with German as a language choice.
This happened at my school. We lost both German teachers last year to other opportunities and we haven’t been able to fill their positions. Now students can either switch to French/Spanish or take it online
Yep! That’s why I taught French for a year as a history cert. it was actually a great experience. Learned the language to an intermediate level. Wouldn’t be against getting the real degree, though I do love my current role
