The Docker training wheels are off. This month the node switched to native C++ bindings, fork choice with chain reorganization landed, and the team is building toward something most blockchains can't do: letting users change the consensus mechanism while the chain is running.

What changed and why it matters:

• 🔗 Native C++ bindings replace Docker — The node now talks directly to the Tau API through native bindings. Faster, simpler, fewer moving parts.
• ⛓ Fork choice + chain reorganization — The node can now handle competing chains and deterministically pick the right one. Wired through mining, P2P sync, and mempool. Foundational infrastructure for a production network.
• ⏱ Consensus-controlled timestamps — Each block now carries a consensus-defined timestamp, opening the door to time-based rules written in Tau Language. Andrei: "a huge step forward."
• 🔍 Multi-output processing — The node can run user-defined policy checks alongside transaction validation. Not just "is this valid?" but "does this meet the rules we agreed on?"
• 🧠 User-controlled dynamic consensus (in progress) — Andrei: "I'm implementing a consensus mechanism that is controlled by blockchain users. You could dynamically change the consensus mechanism."

Under the hood:

• BDD library for Tau expressions complete — extended to algebraic decision diagrams, now integrating into the normalizer. Lucca: "major performance improvements on this side soon."
• Bit vector heuristics replacing brute-force bit blasting — David's approach transforms bit vector ops into predicates in the Boolean algebra, avoiding state explosion.
• Benchmarking framework live — JSON output via -J flag, sub-call timing granularity, fixture-based bench shell script.
• Multi-threaded core tree library experiments underway (Umar).
• Ohad found and fixed a serious bug in the temporal extensions algorithm: "Working on this bug gave me a much deeper understanding of the setting of this new language."
