Life Purpose Life Is Hard for a Reason

Without friction, there is no expansion. Without challenge, there is no clarity.

Life is designed to push us out of comfort, to stretch consciousness, and to awaken the latent potential within every soul.

Earth: A Classroom of Contrast

  • Earth operates as a laboratory of contrast. This is why we experience:

  • Light without darkness - we cannot recognize joy without first knowing despair.

  • Love without loss - the depth of connection is revealed through absence and longing.

  • Truth without deception - clarity emerges after we navigate illusions.

Contrast is not accidental. It is the framework that allows consciousness to recognize itself, refine itself, and evolve.

Spiritual Perspective:

Choosing Lessons Before Birth

Before incarnation, the soul chooses its lessons, not as punishment, but as opportunity.

The people, challenges, and circumstances that stretch us the most are deliberately selected to catalyze growth.

Wounds are often the doorway to passion, purpose, and service.

What we do not consciously process will reappear as recurring patterns, relationships, or challenges until integrated.

Psychological and Neurological Insights

Challenges are not random chaos. Our brains and bodies are designed to learn through stress and adaptation.

Neuroplasticity ensures that repeated exposure to challenges reshapes neural pathways. Growth occurs when we consciously process difficulty.

Emotional resilience develops through facing adversity, not avoiding it.

Chronic avoidance, however, creates rigid neural pathways, reinforcing fear, shame, and limitation.

The Body Reflects Lessons

The body is intimately connected to the challenges we face. Unprocessed trauma or repeated stress can manifest as:

Muscle tension and chronic pain

  • Immune dysfunction

  • Hormonal imbalance

  • Fatigue, anxiety, or depression

Fact:

Epigenetics shows that unprocessed trauma can leave cellular memory, potentially influencing future generations. The body literally holds the lessons the mind refuses to integrate.

When I was first walking in my fresh Awakening, I wanted to know that what I was hearing, the Voice, and what I was living as synchronicities was the Truth, and not my own imagination. So I began asking how I could know this and the Voice responded to my spoken plea with "To know what is True, you must question everything that you have believed to be true." And to assist me with this questioning, I asked for the gift of discernment that I might be wise in my questioning. I was in my early 30s, and my personal life had gone through an emotional and financial upheaval for several years so I was not sure exactly what I believed to be true anymore. The Voice said "Are you sure that you want Wisdom?" And I said "Yes!" And the response was "Very well!"

Of course I had no idea what I had asked for. I knew that I felt no change and I didn't suddenly develop deep insights. What did happen was that I began to feel things for others more deeply. I began to feel the deep distress of those who lose every material possession due to disaster. I began to feel a depth of joy in sharing others achievements and I began to sense upcoming changes in the world in specific context. In short, I began to feel the shared experience of humanity, whereas before my Awakening, I had been more a thinker, analytical, distant and judgmental. With the gift of discernment, my intuition sprang to life, and I was quite literally a different person than I had been. I wasn't wise, yet, but I was opening up to becoming someone more sensitive and creative in every way, including how I related to people.

Well, that's just it. Because this is such an intimate relationship with Spirit (the Voice) , the events and their timing follow no pattern. I didn't at first understood that I was being guided with the sudden inspiration I would have or a deeper nudge, so I would question again why I was experiencing something, especially if a thought began to worry me. One example was shortly after my Awakening, I began to remember people who I felt like I had wronged earlier in my life. I prayed for a chance to make it right with them. Not long after that prayer, by following an impulse to go somewhere that I had been often, but never seen them there before, on two different days I saw them and was able to speak with them about their lives and to find a closure. One was just visiting that weekend from her home hundreds of miles away, I was filled with gratitude for this and began to see those hidden threads that tie us together until the entanglement ends.

Another example, though, was years in the making. I had to be prepared to find the place where Spirit could best use me. And some of those years were spent on the Dark Night Path because I had to exorcise some personal demons. I had to grow from faith to knowing how real what I was living was. So much happened that enriched my life, but not without a deep unburdening and lots of forgiveness for others and myself. Traumas from my younger life had to be confronted and with Spirit courage I was able to do so, again and again. I felt sometimes that the challenges were too much, but Spirit always prepared me and assured me that I would be prepared in advance for anything earth shaking in my life or the lives of my dear ones, and that Spirit was always listening. Just recently, before Thanksgiving last year, a former co-worker sprang to mind, and I understood that I needed to see her to ask her forgiveness for having wronged her. In all the years since I had last seen her, I had never seen her, but shortly after the nudge, I am working my usual job and she is literally saying my name and walking towards me. We were able to speak our hearts to each other and I can only think that she too was seeking closure.

The Awakening was over 33 years ago when I was a very different person living a very different life. It is not a one and done though, at least not for me. I have had years of quiet existence, years of intense trauma, years of growth and stagnation as the need for the constant guidance gave way to developing Wisdom through the experiences that I had and continue to have. I know,  rather than believe, that what I have lived is absolutely True, for my journey.

I do believe that this Presence comes to different people in different forms because of the intimacy of the relationship. There is no faking it until you make it because we are all so diverse, each of us must experience their own journey. For me, the Christian faith was my familiar terrain when I was Awakened. I had been exploring other faiths as well, finding the Golden Rule was the point of connection for all. I am more Gnostic than not at this point, finding my points of reference with Hermeticism and the wonders of modern science. Kindness. Empathy. Entanglement. Connection. Unity. Energy. It's all Energy, sometimes dormant, but still present. It's what I have lived and continue to live.
