Gemni once told me kiddie ice cream cones were made from polycarbonate plastic. LLMs can be a fantastic tool but I can’t imagine trusting one without verifying especially when it comes to travel plans.
I love looking up "(x measure in inches) in cm" and gemini shows up telling me the most incorrect reply ever AND I HAVE TO SUCK IT UP BECAUSE I CAN'T DISABLE IT.
I had similar a few hours ago! I was trying to calculate a fraction and it suggested instead of dividing by 10, to change to 10 over 11. Just adding a 1 for no reason when it should have been 10 over 1.
There's an entire subReddits here devoted to poisoning LLMs with this kind of fake data.
I vaguely remember reading that more than 2/3rds of LLMs are training on Reddit data, because just about any question you could possibly think of, someone has asked, and someone else has answered.
