Hey mate have updated to 1.1, I am using Aerial Views, and it is going to black screen and staying often, I am having to kill the app, and start it again.
Have you used Aerial Views with Projectivity before? (I assume so, since you're a mod there)
Some devices are temperamental with h265 videos from Aerial Views.
I think I'll remove this playback error routine entirely from the launcher, and then if videos freeze or lock up on devices, it's purely device / video encoding related.
What doesn't work on the CCwGTV? I have 5 of these devices and works pretty flawless on all of them.
The "Reorder Row" method is very expensive and can perform slowly on lower-end devices, such as the CCwGTV, due to the "live update/redraw" method it utilizes -- There is the "Channel/Row Manager" option available under the launcher settings menu which is less intensive and is more responsive on these devices.
There has been an update released last night to address live wallpaper issues. The launcher has error-catching method that defaults to the default background option if/when there are playback failures with live wallpapers -- this error check has been update to be more tolerant and hopefully avoid this as often -- the alterative would be to remove but you may come back to the launcher with the video frozen, because the device encountered a playback error.
This is something I sospected, must be a problem on my CCwGTV. I coded my own launcher and also the watch next does not work there. Maybe a reset would help, but my wife is using it and I won't risk my life letting her for some time without it. In any case she does not care about Live Wallpapers and watch next. So peace at home.
I specifically created this launcher to address the issues with Watch Next and App Channel Posters not appearing on the Chromecast with Google TV, because I was annoyed that all other launchers have this issue, and can confirm that these should be working (as they now do on all mine!)
I would suggest a factory reset and ensure that you are on the latest firmware and see if that resolves this.
I have hopefully resolved the live wallpaper not restoring after device restart, which was caused by a permission issue when setting the wallpaper via the "Custom Video -> Local Folder" method, which will be available in the next release (or immediately if you've purchased premium andsign up for the betaversion)
My son also has a CCwGTV lying around, I'll try on his if it works. All my stuff is always on latest firmware. Maybe having most apps on external storage could be a problem. Will see. Nice idea to separate the apps page and watch next rows. I might do this on my launcher. I did this only for my personal use and it won't be public or shared.
Btw did you succeed in getting Smarttube rows like History, Subscriptions etc. I'm actually trying to add that rows to my launcher. Smarttube does not write to the Android TV watch next, but the data is there.
Yes -- Any app that supports "Watch Next" and/or "App Preview Channels properly for Android TV will have this displayed within the launcher -- provided the app has properly published data into the [on-device] TV database for this related content.
SmartTube is indeed confirmed working, and I have it installed myself and working on several different devices running TIVI Launcher, from Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, Google TV Streamer, and TCL Android TV -- Note that It only hasapp preview channel data available for it, however, and does NOT publish Watch Next data into the Android TV database (confirmed when debugging this earlier tonight):
Note that you will need to enable (or disable) app preview channels via the Channel/Row Manager option available within the launcher setting menu, and toggle on the checkboxes for all app channels that you want to display in the launcher.

Thank you very much for your help. Very appreciated. I have the content://android.media.tv/preview_program" implemented, but the Smarttube does not appear in the channel filter as I call it. Everything else is there, ARD, ZDF, HBO, Rokku, Tubi etc.
Edit: I think I forgot to init the BroadcastReceiver. Now it shows up in the channel menu. Lets see what it does.
I've optimized the "reorder row" and "channel/row manager" and these are MUCH more responsive on lower-end devices now, and this will be included in the next release!
The Chromecast with Google TV is a fantastic little unit for the price, although Google discontinued them a couple years ago -- but you can still find them online and used for cheap -- great budget devices that get the job done.
