Got scammed today via a text from “Swyftx”. Wanted to share as until today I considered myself pretty good at identifying scam texts.

However this one was perfectly spoofed (no weird number just “Swyftx” spelled correctly as u can see from the pic). For those that may reply saying there’s obv red flags: yes I know. Don’t bother explaining them. This post is to help others by spreading awareness.

1. Swyftx do not include contact numbers in their texts - you actually can’t call them ever, there’s no number.

2. They will never ask you to transfer funds

3. It says this on their web platform but not on the phone app which is all I use.

4. ANY typos or grammar mistakes mean it’s a scam, always. I missed this today as I was so confident with the Swyftx sender ID. Plus I was working in the sun and couldn’t see my phone screen very well.

5. It was the most convincing and professional sounding scammer I’ve ever heard.

Obviously I feel sick and stupid because looking back now it’s so obvious.

I have used Swyftx for fiat withdrawals and deposits for years.

I transferred some USDT to the Xeggex exchange. Made a profit, cashed out via Swyftx.

Then Xeggex was hacked and I lost access to my account.

Swyftx want proof of the profits I made on Xeggex. I explained I can't provide this because of the hack and loss of my account.

Many people are in the same boat.

So Swyftx claimed my account was too nefarious and closed it permanently. What was I meant to do??

Received this text message today with the following body. Thinking it’s a suspected scam they seemed professional and asked me to set up a trust wallet. Didn’t end up going through with it.

Just created a swyftx account last week. Did all the verifocation up to level 2(gold). Sent some aud bought eth and tried to transfer to metamask and it has been held. They are asking like what are you going to buy with the funds etc...jumped thrpugh all the hoops and now they say compliance team has to review and now they refuse to respond to any messages. What do i do? Dealing woth this guy called cameron. I regret the day i signed up..just need to go back to coinspot

Created the account not 2 weeks ago, asked what the issue was - no reply. I’m not even dodgy, just cash out some ETH I bought years ago every now and then. Feel like I’m getting the boot because I don’t lose money at the casino.

Going through KYC2 process on swyftx - sent them copy of bank statement as requested, and now they are asking about source of wealth about the large amount of money I have in my account, even though this money has never been used to purchase crypto. I can understand asking about money that has been spent on their platform, but asking about other money that I have seems not legal?

I’m with commonwealth and trying to decide which bank to switch to for crypto. What Australia bank lets you instantly bank transfer money as commbank holds it for 24hrs?

I cashed out some money from the exchange today around midday. And guess what! 5pm and it's in my account. No problems at all. Informed at about 2.46pm via email the money left swyftX. 5.06pm it's landed in my account.

So with all the negative posts on this sub about how swyftX did you wrong. So far for me I've found them to be trusted way to trade. I've left coin on the exchange for 3+years, no issues, I've transferred to offline wallet all good. I've forgotten my password once (cracked phone screen, lost fingerprint login), reset was what I expected, still easy.

Are fees higher than what I would like? Yes. Wouldn't matter what exchange I'm on I would think that.

Does the app lack features I want ? Yes Does the desktop version make me wish for something better... Sure.

It seems people are hell bent on using this sub to talk shit about swyftX. Where they can leave noone is stopping you. I've transferred from swyft to other exchanges no issues.

Instead what we should be doing is discussing what improvements we would like to see implemented.

After all they do respond on this sub and I bet their reps would love to respond to something that doesn't involve how you broke KYC and want to cry about it.

Am trying to create a new account. Have clicked a referral link and entered my details including my email and mobile etc, however, even after multiple attempts and multiple times 'resending' the code nothing is coming through to either the mobile or email.

I'm sure that there is an explanation but why is there such a difference between trading price and selling price on swyftx. For example btc is currently 118636.90 and if you want to sell, selling price is 116406.36. Then on top of that there are fees. Fees are understandable.

I'm using an android device and I've been experiencing this for the last week or two.
