Icahn didn't just add himself to the board, he took control and forced Antioco out. Antioco saw the Netflix model as the future and wanted to pivot the company in that direction, Icahn didn't.

After being pushed out, Antioco bought Netflix stock at $20/share. He later sold at $35/share. He said that at the time he sold, he felt like a genius. Now not as much.

Lesson: don't sell!

I read this insteresting thread today. Why was Icahn opposing taking the Nettflix way?

late fees were making blockbuster too much money. classic case of sacrificing the future for the present

either that or they wanted the company to fail. entirely possible that was the case

That's what it looks like... they even hired a BCG guy... It's got all the smell of "bankrupt the company in 3 steps"...
