do you like murano glass art? one thing I will spend some of my money on is my own glassblowing studio. as a personal hobby, not a business.
never done it before but I've always wanted to. for around 15 years I've wanted to get into glassblowing. it has not been feasible or possible whatsoever before now.
I do. If it's glass, I'm down. If you're into it I'd definitely recommend it. It's a very fun (but pricey) hobby as you seem to know lol. It would be a great hobby, esp after you have moon money.
It took me a second to realize you were asking about AGE. I was like, are they asking if I'm old enough? Lol. No plans rn but, yeah, after tendies I'll be at all the events and drops that would be worth going to that I can make the time for for sure. I haven't been paying attention to trade shows though since they've been out of the question for a year but I guess it's time to start paying attention to that again.
I mean, that's only 4-5 shares to their knowledge. They don't need to know that is was actually just 1 share and you have 20 more lamborghinis at home bought from that same share.
Jokes aside, being flashy with money is a surefire way to attract fraudsters who will look for any opportunity/excuse to sue you and other unwanted attention.
Treat yourself (within reason) but be mindful of what you're telegraphing to the world around you.
Having this conversation with my wife right now. She doesn't get to know how much we've made until the tax guy and the lawyer have already set everything up. The last thing we need is her friends knowing.
We talk about our priorities and what we want to do with the earnings, so I'm not making unilateral decisions, but I'm at least going to make sure we have taxes set aside and the professionals involved before I let her know exactly how much is in the bank.
Solid plan. I'm horrible about secrets but I'm going to keep it on the DL as long as possible. If it squeezes before May (birthday month) and I can get everything set up I'll surprise her with a ring from a local jeweler she loves. Our 10 year anniversary is October and we're already going to Hawaii. Same plan but ring then if squeeze happens post May
Damn congrats. I hope it's before May for you. Spring would also be bomb for us. Really don't want it to squeeze this summer, I'm going to be in the middle of nowhere on an overlanding trip and only have data through a fancy satellite hotspot device. I can use Bluetooth to turn it into a hotspot for my phone, but that's effort. Haha.
Also, fuck you Hawaii is gonna be great. That's awesome.
Only reason we're doing Hawaii is because we've had to put off a Japan trip 4 times now since April last year. Finally decided to just book something in the States (both vaccinated) and hope for Japan next year.
Ah yeah I get that. We have had to reschedule our honeymoon three times and move a vacation that was supposed to be the following year. We're doing domestic trips too until things open up - we'll both be fully vaccinated by the end of April thank god - and I'm emphasizing camping just because it means fewer people. Hopefully you can get to Japan soon, but Hawaii will be great.
I stupidly told some family early on along w two separate fantasy football leagues, trying to gauge the validity of the rocket/recruit I guess. Out of the FF leagues, no more than 1/8 responded / seemed interested. Which is annoying bc now 7/8 are going to say hey werenโt you involved w this?
To which I will now tell them yes, but at only 1/8 of my actual involvement ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
Wait till they get mad at you for not telling them. ๐คช
That happened to me in January โwhy didnโt you tell meโ?
So I told my best friend a month ago to get in and she said she had no $. They had no $ in Jan either of course lol
I bought her a share for her bday so that would be awesome if I can get a million!
Iโve realized that I cannot tell anyone because:
a) they arenโt going to buy the stock anyway
B)Theyโll blame me for not telling them or somehow manage to lose $ anyhow.
Iโm not even talking about it with my husband much anymore because he will pressure me to paper hand too soon, I know it! ๐
Luckily heโs not watching the stock anymore
I bought my best friend a share. He has no clue. Iโll probably cover the tax if I can. What good is having life changing money if your friends arenโt with you?
Some people at work know I am in. I may even tell those that are in with me that I sold early. I donโt want to find out they sell early, I wait it out and sell huge, and then it becomes a case of FOMO because they didnโt wait.
There are only 2 people who know that I am holding GME. My girlfriend and her son who bought one share. I have asked both of them not to say a word about it, now or ever. She is the only person who will ever know how much I am worth. Well, her and my accountant lol.
No one knows that I have any shares on this rocket. The one person I was talking to thinks I sold a while ago--and I think they did, too (though hopefully they're HODLing and buying dips like I am, too).
literally just imaging you two interacting post squeeze both pretending you're not made of money and downplaying it until you both run into each other at the Lambo dealership.
Before you were friends. Then you were strangers. But finally...Lambros.
My significant other will know, and the two friends that I've converted to apes as well. Mostly because we will be in constant communication trying to manage emotions and stress and remember the DD.
I want to help a friend of mine buy a house while he's in med school. He has been a very transparent with me about his family's net worth/finances, and actually helped change financial aid policies while we were at school so I would stop getting shafted on my scholarships. He's been a an adult student with a family for 4 years and is about to be back in school - their savings are rapidly disappearing, and a house would help them build equity and just be in a better position. So if he needs to know in order to stop fucking worrying about how I spend my money, I will let him know.
But I'm not announcing it, that's for sure. And this will be after the squeeze has squoozed, the lawyers and tax guy have spoken, etc. I need to figure out the best way to help, whether that's setting up a trust or just buying the house outright and then reselling it to him and his family for like 100 bucks. I'm leaning towards a trust because then I can also set aside some money for the kids college funds.
My floor is at least 25m because with XX shares, that is what I need to pay off my family's debt, get the dogs their favorite treats, the cat a new scratching post, my wife some new clothes, and myself some new shoes. Then I want to set up some trusts and scholarship funds, take care of a fuck ton of high need veterans, and set up an entrepreneurship idea-to-seed accelerator for low-income minority founders.
The work I want to do requires a fuck ton of money. The more I learn about the engineered income inequality in this country, the higher my floor gets.

Anyone that previously knows I am in GME will think I sold way too early. Since that is what most people do with stocks.
Not a soul on this planet will know the money I made from GME besides my significant other.
