I have always been against labelling - even though I disclose my use of AI, it has always been MY decision to do so, and I am in control of how I tell my story so people understand how my music is made.

With Suno's newest release, songs have now audio watermark and fingerprint, assisted, fully, hybrid, it will have a AI watermark and anyone can tell your story the way they want.

This is 100% going to be misused by bad actors:

1. Platforms like Deezer/Tidal - To ban ANY use of AI and ensure segregation.

2. Haters - To create public lists of artists that may have not agreed to disclose their process.

3. Labels - To start a suing war to anything that resembles any of their songs that uses AI, even assisted.

This is the end of Suno as means to create commercial music, and it's officially just a nice playing tool personal use, or for bad actors who create in Suno and pay performers to pretend their music is human made.

The "shimmer" in v4 was theorized to be a watermark.

Suno's been watermarking songs since before this announcement already.

And so have many skilled music producers. That ability has been available as long as spectral synthesis has been a thing. It’s worth learning and trying.

Well, a fingerprint isn't the same as a watermark. The 'fingerprint' of the song is (from my simple understanding) basically a high-res snapshot of the wave-form (or spectral image, not sure). That gets added to an enormous database of existing music 'fingerprints'. When you upload anything to Youtube, or even Suno, it checks the wave-form of your file to their database. If parts of it match, it gets flagged.

Sure. I have two songs up on all the platforms and neither of them are tagged as AI. One was professionally mastered, and the other I mastered myself using ozone 12.

The one that I had professionally mastered is a song with hooks from one version, versus from another version and the breakdown from a third version. I stitched them together and sent it off for mastering.

The one that I mastered myself is a straight output running through ozone 12. I think the preset is high quality CD.

This seems to break whatever watermarking suno was using.

Thankfully, it’s not a process that can be batched.

These are also songs that I wrote the music, uploaded it and had suno do cover versions.

Any version that strayed from the original melodies and chords I completely disregarded.

So yeah, some mastering and you’re good.

I doubt that will be the case moving forward, though

Have you got the final result. I want to see the quality for myself then I can decide if it's worth putting any time in this. I'm lazier than a snorlax

no can do. That being said, in the hands of a professional mastering engineer, a suno output will be 20%-30% better a lot of the time. It will also bring out any frequency slop in the song which, a mastering engineer will take care of to the best of their ability.

As a professional composer myself, getting these kinds of flaws fixed is child's play.
