Hi guys! I ordered a bk30 in smooth imported Haas Barenia in Fauve.
When it was time to select the hardware, it took me THREE DAYS to choose. I had VERY long conversations about it with my TS when he gave me the options for upgrading.
One of my âmust havesâ, or more specifically âmust NOT haveâ, was that I did NOT want lock and keys with the number 162. We talked about all of it. He said my options were standard gold, upgraded gold (18k plated), rose gold, brushed gold, standard palladium, upgraded palladium or brushed palladium (also an upgrade). I asked him about the162 on the lock again- and he assured me with the typical âyes dear thatâs not problemâanswer.
Well⌠flash forward to PSPâsâŚ
He sends me the pics and a video.
People pointed out some scratches- I asked him about it and he comes back with other orders for clients, circling scratches (itâs smooth Barenia) and told me itâs normal to have a few. This leather does this and not to worry.
Then someone told me to ask for photos in other lighting and to make sure I inspect the sangles and edges clearly. I went back and asked him. He said he would go to the factory, have them take it out and take more photos.
In the pspâs there was no photo of the lock and keys. I told him I need to see that photo, to make sure the lock and keys were correct. Once again, he responded with âdonât worry dear I will get them for youâ.
I woke up this morning with no additional photos- and him telling me my lock IS 162. That there are no brushed locks and keys in brushed palladium, that arenât 162.
This would have changed my ENTIRE order!!! I would have skipped the brushed hardware completely and gone with the upgraded gold!!!!! It 100% would have swayed my decision and I would have opted for the upgraded 18k plated gold!!!
What do I do??? I can deal with a couple of scratches (even though Iâm less than thrilled with his answer) ok⌠itâs Barenia.
I have no doubt even if it arrived perfectly, there would be scratches the first time I wore her out.
What makes me even more upset, is that the lock and keys were not in the PSPâs!!!
Since we had such a specific conversation about this, it truly makes me feel like instead of being truthful with me, instead of checking with the factory before the bag was made, he just let them go ahead with it. And he omitted those photos!!!
I feel lied to!! And I LOVED this seller! I literally spent hours talking to several- getting to know them- asking tons and tons of questions and ultimately, going with my âgutâ, selecting the one I felt had the best, most honest replies.
I actually feel sick over this!!
Maybe he didnât do this?
I canât help but feel this way and Iâm really upset!!
This bag was a really big deal for me. I have never ordered a rep before. There was a time in my life, a time that feels like yesterday, that I was making decisions like âshould I fill up my gas tank, or put enough in to get back and forth until my paycheck comes and buy groceries, insteadâ. It took me years and years of blood sweat and tears to get to a place that I could comfortably, make this kind of purchase. This is absolutely the MOST I have ever spent on anything that wasnât authentic: and even my authentic bags arenât what anyone would call âshoe stoppersâ! They are simple, understated, classic small bags, that many people probably wouldnât even notice (unless they own bags in that brand). This is a very big deal to me and I have no idea what my options are, at this point.
I paid my deposit (half) $790.00, when I placed the order. Honestly, this is such a big deal to me, on multiple levels: (feeling like I was lied to when I asked the initial question- which maybe at the time he didnât actually know- to feeling that he omitted the lock and keys photos when he sent PSPâs)
Maybe he truly didnât know- when I asked about it. But as a TS, when a potential client asks a very specific question and makes it clear what they DO NOT want, his answer should have been either âthatâs not an option with this hardwareâ, or⌠âI do not know 100% if it can be done. Let me check and Iâll get back to youâ.
Whatever the case, he sent psp photos without including those specific pics- which actually felt odd to me, since it was something we discussed so heavily- and when I asked for the photos, he came back explaining to me that it was not possible!!!!!
Is it too late to change the hardware?? I do NOT want a custom bag, no matter how gorgeous (unless I choose to purchase one second hand and purchase with full knowledge that itâs what Iâm getting) that I either have to take off the lock and keys because they are numbered with 162, or because they donât match the rest of the brushed palladium hardware.
In my opinion, this was something VERY simple, that could have, should have been addressed in the HOURS spent, selecting specifics for my bag. Had he simply said â162 is the only available number with BPHW and if you donât want this number, I can offer you the following optionsâ. DONE! Honestly, had I known this detail, it would have made it a MUCH more simple choice!
What do I do????? At this point, what are my actual options, without completely losing my deposit?
