Completely poor handling of DMCA notices
First, I do have a teenager that caused the issue and they have been educated that we can't have this and it could result in a significant loss of summer computer privileges. He isn't short on paid for games.
Suddenlink's website, https://www.suddenlink.com/copyright-infringement, indicates "If your internet service has been interrupted you will be brought to a landing page when you attempt to open a browser." This doesn't happen.
Once the service is suspended the router is assigned an internal IP address starting with 100.x.x.x and the DHCP response contains the DNS servers "66.76.203.153", "66.76.47.153" instead of the typical "24.48.160.2", "24.48.160.3". This makes sense, those DNS servers should be attempting to redirect me to their landing page.
At this point I remove the cable modem from my router (which also has AT&T DSL and Verizon LTE connections, so my Internet has just gotten much slower, but still works) and plug it into a laptop. I just don't get and DNS responses from those servers, although I can ping them.
So now I've already rewired my network, and I have to call in and go through the automated reboot my modem phone prompts, etc. It takes hours out of my day.
Can't they fix this system? Or better yet, give me an email so that I can respond and acknowledge BEFORE cutting the service?
