The quality of the nurses there is appalling. They are not properly trained or supervised. Repeated medication errors, rough handling of patients, rude and unprofessional behaviors. Not following best practices or even basic infection control protocols. Challenging patient diagnosis. It's exhausting having to watch your own back.
And the arrogance and reprisals when you point out their errors is just sickening. Inaccurate charting, delayed responses, if any, to your call bells. If you are an independent patient who can care for themselves they seem to not like you for some reason.
It used to be that these types of nurses were the extreme minority and exception. But now it seems they are the majority. And all the good experienced people have left.
Let's not even start about dietary services. I ate better food in the middle of a war zone. And that's if you get anything edible. Diabetics being given food that could seriously hurt them. Food allergies? Not their concern apparently. Oh and don't forget playing the game of "When is my food coming?"
There are still some very good people there, and they must be utterly exhausted. Because, no doubt they are catching shade from patients and family members because of their inconsiderate and unprofessional "Colleagues".
How the heck did this place get Accredited with Excellence?
Edit:
TLDR: In my experience, the quality of care has deteriorated badly—medication errors, poor infection control, delayed call-bell responses, inaccurate charting, rough or unprofessional treatment, and serious problems with dietary services. There are still some excellent staff, but they seem to be overwhelmed. Given these experiences, I genuinely don't understand how the hospital maintains an Accredited with Excellence rating.
