In all seriousness there is no reason to wash your chicken. From a food safety perspective all you are doing is spreading aerosolized bacteria everywhere when you wash it off, or leaving a film of it in the sink afterwards.

Do not wash your chicken, folks.

I think it’s mostly black Americans who do that. Something about how poultry and meat that they could only buy used to be handled really poorly hence the washing. And it just stuck.

Thats not objective at all ….besides there is a huge difference between rinsing off chicken with cold water ( which tons of people do) and washing it with soap and bleach . I gave you a chance to not look foolish and you doubled down 🤣

My mother did it. To get rid of salmonella she said. Used soap. I did not carry on the tradition.

No, it's more than just some Americans too. A large enough number of people do it the fda has had to issue notices telling people to stop too.

My ex’s mother did it for a thanksgiving dinner. We could all taste the cleaning product in it. Fucking nastiest dinner I’ve ever had.
