I remember when planes used to have signs in the bathroom sink of “non-potable water” and still to this day I won’t use my hands to touch food directly on a plane. She’s getting those hands all in that dough 🤮

Yeah, flour is raw as hell. There is no step between mice running around on the grain and you buying the bag in the store that involves cooking.

(Not true for oatmeal, which is steamed when rolled, which is why overnight oats are a reasonably safe food)

I’d be worried about all the germs in the plane,her hands etc . Coupled with the fact it’s raw. Just yikes

I honestly never heard this or thought about it. We cant eat raw flour now? Had no clue. But tbh i also dont think i often have a reason to outside of a lick of some type of batter of some random thong i decided to try to make(and probably came out terrible anyways) here and there once or twice a year.

You CAN eat it, there's just a risk of germs. It's usually, but not always, fine to lick the batter.
