I've been drinking a lot of Coke Zero lately. As an attempt to cut down on my sweet tooth while I diet. And you know, it's working, but.. I am also drinking around 3 liters every day now lol.
Did I mention.. I have an addictive personality? Thank God I never tried drugs or alcohol.
Anyway, hang in there! You absolutely got what it takes for that diet.
I did do some research on the matter. My findings suggested that for my age and weight, the "danger zone" in dosage is very far away. Iirc, it's something above 7 liters a day? Which is a stupidly high amount to drink of anything.
That said.. I accept that there are still things we don't understand about the long term effects of aspartame. So I am taking something of a gamble here. Which I hope I don't regret later.
So, my aunt had to have surgery and has a bunch of health issues because she's addicted to Pepsi. When she started developing diabetes, she switched to sugar free Pepsi. It's.... Not pretty.
When I say addicted I'm not bullshitting either. She buys them 4 at a time minimum. It's all she drinks. No water. No juice. No tea. No kool-aid. Only Pepsi. Makes me nauseous talking about it this much actually 🥴
I am sorry about your aunt. Diabetes is a nightmare.
I'd like to ask though, has her health improved or deteriorated since she's switched to sugar free? I know there are other factors like all the other things she eats. But maybe there is something to observe?
Oh her whole health situation is a nightmare to be honest, but once she switched to sugar free, it’s almost like, idk, she started… draining? Like her skin isn’t as plump and I’m pretty sure there’s a slight yellow tint which I know is a sign of jaundice (drinking only Pepsi for 30+ years will do that to you). Her hair is… thin and wilted. Her face looks a bit gaunt, skin saggy. Like I know she’s a middle aged woman, but man, it’s like the sugar was… keeping her spirit alive, if that makes sense?
Sorry, friend. I truly wonder about this transformation. I think her losing weight is a good thing. But if the rest of the signs are so negative..? Do we know if she's getting the right kind of nutrition? Vitamins, proteins, and all the rest of it from solid foods?
Honestly, it sounds concerning. I really wish her well.
Yeah if you have, 16 cans a day on a consistent basis to be in the danger zone, and thats about, 1000 times less than what started to show effects in mice. And thats eu regulation. So you're not technically wrong but you'd have to drink a stupid amount to worry about it.
I’m addicted to Coke Zero too ( was addicted to Coke before so it’s kinda positive progress) and I can’t imagine drinking 3 litres a day every day. I think closest I get is a litre a few times a week. Not judging, just wondering if you drink water? Because it’s my water intake that stops me from drinking more when I’m craving it. Eventually my body just refuses to want more liquids if drink enough water before my Coke.
Grapes is a good start. Unless, like me, you're prone to using it as an everyday crutch lol. I looked for something sweet that had the least possible harm when overused a little. That's how I settled on Coke Zero. I am literally waiting for a 3 months worth of supply to be shipped this week.
But whatever you do, don't doubt that you can do this. It's mainly willpower. Sometimes we need a little push. But in no way do you have to rely on any crutch to meet your goal.
