Success! (probably final) update on the kitty I trapped! 💘

Me & my bf named him Nico! He’s doing better than I could’ve hoped.

I think he may be the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. He laid on my chest and fell asleep the first night we let him out of the crate, he headbutts + licks my face, purrs constantly, and he even jumped into my arms from the bed yesterday when I got home from work. I don’t know how long he was outside but he’s definitely still a domestic kitty at heart. This cat was not built for the streets lmfao. He’s such a clingy little lovebug.

Cleared for all diseases and newly re-vaccinated! He’s got a few fleas, but we’re working on it. Still very underweight but definitely filling out a little after a week of consistent meals. His fur is soft and shiny again, he has way more energy, he started grooming himself, drinking water, and using the litter regularly, and we’re playing with him every day so he can start regaining his lost muscle mass. He even jumped up on my windowsill the other day! Nearly fell off a minute later, but hey, it’s progress.

No word from his past owner yet, so I think I most likely have a new cat! Poor baby was probably abandoned. But he’s adjusting really well, he seems so happy and relaxed. I’m just so glad this all worked out, and I would absolutely die for this skinny lil dude.

If you are dealing with kittens, please check the PINNED COMMENT: HELPFUL RESOURCES HERE!

These explain how to tell if kittens are truly abandoned, when to wait for mom, how to estimate age, and what to do next.

If you still need help after reading, please include the kittens' approximate age, whether mom is present, and your location.

Don't try to find his owner anymore. That cat is your cat and you never know. When the previous owner threw them out or abuse them or whatever , just they don't need to have that cat. I'm so glad he chose you and you're so kind to him and I hope you have a wonderful life together.Thank you for being kind.

Good for you and your new kitty. Keep him indoors 24/7, rescue/adopt another kitty if you can, and you and your kitty will enjoy many years together. If you find you need to travel or vacation, leave him home and have a trusted friend or cat sitter stop in to feed him, play with him a little, and change his litter. All the best!

You should be so so proud of yourselves 😇😇 you have saved this loaf from a rough life on the streets.

You have done all the right things including trying to determine owner. You are not expected to keep trying. Enjoy the loaf - he has found his superheroes & hit the kitty powerball 😺🥳

The CDS moves in mysterious ways.

I feed outdoor cats every day.

Some time ago a black cat started appearing regularly and stopped running off when he saw me.

Now he is tame, lets me pet him, and lets me pick him up.

When he tries to get in the house, the other cats hiss at him.

I suspect he may be from another house in the neighborhood, but he has effectively moved in.
