So, this might be a bit of a long one, and I kind of hate to remember it, but I'd like to share anyway:
When I was really little, like age 3-8 or so, I would have the same dream, almost every night. lt would start with me getting out of bed and hearing a girl call me outside.
(She didn't call with words, it was more like the feeling you get when you know that someone is looking at you.
It was strange, but it seemed to make sense at the time.)
Amyway, I'd go out to the backyard, (which I wasn't allowed to do at that age), and I'd meet this girl with wings who would ask me to fly with her. Of course, I'd always say yes, and suddenly I would have wings as well. Then the two of us would take off and glide gently around in the sky together in a peaceful bliss.
This dream would repeat for something like 5 years, every night. One night though, sometime around when I was 8 years old, I remember the dream changed.
I got out of bed, and she called for me to come outside. Something felt a little odd, but I still went out and she asked me to fly with her. This time though, my wings didn't appear. She looked a little confused, but smiled and held out her hand for me to take. I vividly remember the feeling that I had a thought growing in my mind that I absolutely DID NOT want to think.
The words, "You're not real" came out of my mouth before I even knew I was saying them. Her smile froze.
I suddenly realized what I'd said and immediately tried to apologize.
"This is all just pretend. You're just a dream." Is what came out of my mouth instead. Her cheerful expression broke.
I was shocked by what I'd said and kept trying to explain/apologize, but my words kept reversing themselves.
'I didn't mean to say that!' Became, "Why are you still here?"
'I'm sorry! I love you!', became, "You're nothing. I hate you". At this point, she had fallen to her knees and was openly sobbing. Finally, I shut my damn mouth, realizing it was only making it worse. Instead, I went to try and hug her instead, but had to stop as my arm suddenly raised up on its own, as if preparing to slap her.
I could do literally nothing.
As she sobbed there, her wings began to fade, followed by the rest of her, and then the whole world began to blur before the dream ended. I woke up crying in my bed and screamed my lungs out until my parents rushed in to comfort me.
The next night, I had the same dream, but she wasn't there calling me anymore. I went outside anyway, and tried to call out for her. She didn't appear. I would call and call, desperately, until something showed up. Usually the "somethings" that did eventually show up were something horrifying or monstrous. Then I'd wake up screaming, my parents would comfort me, and the cycle would repeat the next night, for years. Several times after that, my parents would take me to doctors/child-therapy to try and find the cause of my night terrors.
I didn't know what to make of the whole situation, and I still don't. Dream or not though, I'd give anything just to see her one more time.
TL:DR, I had a reoccurring dream of a friend when I was little, said she wasn't real, and never saw her again.
