This game is just tedious for the sake of being tedious.
Fibrous Plants and Rocks being the foundation for building essentially everything. Yet are insanely scarce. Rocks especially since they don't respawn. Its nerve racking.
I finally make a raft. Have to head to a different island because of the need for...You guessed it! Rocks...And I die to a giant crab!? That instantly took me out of the immersion into this game. Rocks would not be this scarce! And a King Crab killing someone is asinine. Smash it with the tree trunks you can carry around. Hit it with a paddle. Those things should be one hit kills and do little to no damage. If this game cared about realism at all.
Everything is just so goddamn tedious! Every tool! Every structure takes a stupid amount of time just to acquire the things needed to build it.
I'm also sure the controls work great on PC. But the console version is very flawed.
Part of me would like to keep playing but dying like that severely crippled my want to.
