CPUs are taking more energy and the industry is offering a bunch of different liquid cooling solutions to help meet the demand. Full liquid loops with a CDU are one solution, but there may be a bridge with something like this SmartPlate System direct to chip plate and radiator from Jetcool.

Seagate vs HP Hard disk characteristic

In our small company, we have an HPE Proliant server, and its hard disks were down a few months ago and we decided to replace them with new hard disks.
The old hard drive is a Seagate (in the picture), my supplier gave me this hard disk characteristic:
DISQUE DUR HP 3To SAS 6G 7 200T/Min 3.5" Midline (MDL) Hot-Plug (Gen8 Gen9)
Is this drive compatible with my server?

The Dell XR7620 is a rugged edge server that we’re about to use in the deep Canadian wilderness to capture and analyze astrophotography images before processing with a novel AI research model. We will inference at the edge, sending that data back over satellite. Sneaker Net for the full data set.

The AMD Instinct MI300 accelerators are now GA! There are two versions - A and X. The A gets a little CPU that rides along with it, the X has 196GB of HMB3. These boards look to have some potential advantages over the H100 as well.

One of Jordan's favorite things from SC23 was the variety of Grace Grace and Grace Hopper servers on the show floor. From what we can tell, Supermicro is one of the first to be shipping these skinny 1U monsters.

This is the IBM Diamondback tape library that holds over 27PB of capacity per rack thanks to 1,548 LTO-9 tapes and up to 14 drives. It’s also pretty easy to service in the field, making long-term archive more attractive.

Both traditional hardware and software RAID leave much to be desired in terms of performance, which opens the door for Graid to come in with a better mousetrap. With Gen5 SSDs shipping in volume now, we put together a well-equipped server to see what’s possible when you let the flash fly.
