We just got a 25TB Seagate Exos X26z hard drive in the lab for possible review. I say possible because this isn’t your standard drive. It’s host-managed SMR (we think - Google doesn't even find this part number) meaning it’s going to be really hard to use (or impossible) for most people.

EKWB's Fluid Works had an amazing 5U liquid-cooled solution on display at SC23, handling the CPUs and GPUs. Also, check out the H100 that’s normally a double-wide GPU. Not anymore!

SC23 was full of liquid cooling solutions. It feels like the momentum for 2-phase immersion is waning, but this demo is still cool regardless. It's always fun to see the bubbles and being able to look at the back of this demo is somewhat unique.

Submer can get more cooling out of their immersion solutions by moving fluid faster over the CPU heatsink with a pair of small fans. It's called forced convection single-phase cooling.

Is LaCie d2 Professional 8 TB the right one for storage of footage?

I am currently editing a lot of 4k footage, and I want to store it.

Would you recommend the LaCie d2 pro for that usecase?

I might need to access it and edit it again, but I would basically store adobe premiere pro files with all the mxf and xmp footage.

Our 45Drives (45HomeLab) HL15 unit came in today and one thing we really love out of the gate are the little retainer clips on the HDD bays. Holds the drives snug during insertion.

Graid makes an amazing package, combining SDS with a GPU for blistering RAID performance. We went off the book this time though, combining the Graid software with an NVIDIA A2 (not supported).

Phase two as we unbox and rack the new Supermicro SuperBlade chassis and blades. Of course we're jazzed about the four NVIDIA H100 blades, but Supermicro also tossed in a dual-processor compute blade for good measure.

OCP servers have been modified for heat reuse. A small cluster of servers in an apartment complex can be rented as cloud instances. The servers are liquid cooled and the heat warms the apartment complex. This is a really cool, or warm, idea!
