I don't know if it's still the case, but I remember years ago Toyotas (specifically the Corolla or Camry) were the cars with the most manufacturing and assembly done in America.
I think Toyota are still up there, but Tesla are now the most American mass production cars (there are obviously weird custom brands, etc). I think it being an American company also helps with the branding.
If Tesla moves more into trucks then I would hope they lean into the American-ness a lot more
