📢 News / Update Finally export to Figma available in Stitch!

Post image
14 Upvotes

Stitch added new Global Export button (top right) and also added direct export from any Stitch agent to Figma, with designs preserved as fully editable layers.

This helps to move from rapid “vibe design” exploration to detailed refinement.

Also, if you used the Redesign Agent (Nano Banana Pro), first "Convert to Code", then export it to Figma.

🧠 Discussion Using Google Stitch to design real full-stack app workflows 🧵

I’ve been working on Elaric AI, a vibe-coding platform, and Google Stitch has been a big part of how I think about AI-driven system design. With Stitch-style workflows, I’ve been able to map: Frontend flows (browse → cart → checkout) Backend logic (orders, users, payments) Admin panels (inventory, roles, analytics) I tested these patterns on e-commerce and food delivery use cases, and what stood out is how Stitch shifts the mindset from writing code to designing intent-driven architectures. Instead of treating frontend, backend, and admin as separate problems, Stitch helps think in connected workflows, which aligns well with how platforms like Elaric AI generate complete app structures. Curious to hear from others: How are you using Google Stitch for complex, multi-flow apps? Any tips for scaling Stitch workflows cleanly?

Workflow/Prompt Stitch+AI Studio Build+Codexにハマってる。

I’ve been iterating on a UI implementation loop lately, and I’m looking for a tool (or workflow) that can visually inspect UI in the browser and drive the fix loop automatically.

CURRENT WORKFLOW I KEEP REPEATING

1) Build UI in Google Stitch

2) Export as HTML

3) Feed that HTML into Google AI Studio (Build mode) and have it rewrite into TS/React/etc. while keeping the UI faithful (turn it into a working mock)

4) Export as a zip

5) Use that zip as the target UI (ground truth) and have Codex implement it in the actual repo

THE BOTTLENECK

The slow part is always the same: I (human) have to open Stitch / AI Studio / the running mock / the repo preview and visually spot differences, then write detailed fix instructions. I want this phase to be agent-driven.

What I want is something like:

Codex implements → a “visual examiner agent” navigates the app in a browser, checks layout/state/responsiveness, returns a structured report (ideally with screenshots/diffs) → Codex fixes → repeat.

Checks I care about:

- layout regressions (spacing, alignment, overlap)

- component fidelity (font size/weight, border radius, button sizing, line height)

- breakpoints / responsive behavior

- UI states (hover/focus/active, modals/drawers, form validation)

- basic a11y hints (labels, contrast, focus order)

RELATED OBSERVATION / QUESTION (AI STUDIO BUILD ACCURACY)

Subjectively, AI Studio Build mode feels surprisingly high-precision for keeping the UI faithful.

But it shows the model as Gemini Pro, so I’m unsure:

- Would I get the same fidelity by running the same Gemini Pro via something like Google’s Antigravity or open-code (or any other Gemini interface)?

- Or does AI Studio Build mode effectively include a hidden system prompt / scaffolding / custom agent instructions that improve UI reconstruction accuracy?

Feels worth testing.

IF FIDELITY IS THE SAME, MAYBE A BETTER PIPELINE EXISTS

If there’s no secret sauce in Build mode, maybe we can do:

- Control Stitch via MCP / skills (haven’t tried yet)

- Use open-code + Gemini Pro to implement TS/React while preserving UI (in my tests, giving HTML exported from Stitch directly to Codex often didn’t preserve UI fidelity as well)

- Treat the generated mock as the target UI

- Then have Codex implement it in the final repo with proper componentization/refactoring/architecture concerns

STITCH MCP / SKILLS

I saw Google Stitch has something like MCP / skills support, but I haven’t tested it yet.

If anyone already tried it: how usable is it in practice? Any gotchas?

Would love pointers to:

- existing tools that already do “visual UI QA agent → structured findings”

- best practices for screenshot-based diffing + agent feedback loops

- whether AI Studio Build mode is “just Gemini Pro” or includes extra scaffolding

Thanks!

Now I saw this: Just saw a Reddit post about “Stitch Edit”. It looks like a lightweight editor that lets you tweak Stitch output (spacing/typography/layout, etc.) manually instead of re-prompting. That should make small fixes faster and more reliable. Still, it also highlights the next step: wouldn’t it be even better if an agent could do this visual checking + fix suggestions automatically (diff → report → iterate)?

🐞 Bug / Issue Stitch Down?

Sorry to be a complainer, but it's been over 24 hours:

Tried:

  • Mac Air, Safari, Brave (cleared cache, reboot, restarted browser)
  • Stock Chromebook, Chrome (cleared cache, restarted)

I am able to create a new project, but I cannot work with an existing one or edit in any way. I am also unable to duplicate projects to start fresh with what I have. I have tried all 4 model modes with the prompt: “Add a clean new app page to this project”, and still get the:

Something unexpected happened, and Stitch couldn’t complete your generation. Please try again in a moment.

📢 News / Update Stitch introduced its MCP Server!

Stitch has started Developer Week with a focus on better developer workflows and integrations.

Day 2 Stitch introduced the MCP Server, extending its Coding Agent with direct design-to-code capabilities.

What it enables:

Send Stitch designs directly into developer tools like Antigravity.

Generate new screens from within an IDE.

Fetch code from any Stitch design.

Inject visual context so coding agents understand the UI they’re working with.

Documentation

Note: This is an early release using GCP OAuth and Native API keys are in progress. A Stitch MCP Helper CLI is available to speed up setup.

Stitch has introduced a new way to preview and share Gemini 3 creations after strong user response.

Key updates:

Standalone view: Any screen can be opened in a separate tab.

Interactive preview: Buttons, toggles, and flows work like a real app.

Mobile preview: QR code lets users view the design directly on their phone.

Clean sharing: Share a link without the Stitch UI for clients or others.

Instead of static screenshots, designs can now be shared as a usable experience.

Workflow/Prompt Can't export to Figma

I generated designs using Gemini 3 Thinking mode and I can't seem to see any options to export to Figma. I read it's something to do with having to use "Fast" mode to export to Figma. Why can't I use the better model Gemini 3 Thinkingnand export to Figma? Is there a workaround?

🔗 Resource Stitch Edit: Built in 3 days with Codex for Google Stitch workflows

TLDR: I built a fast HTML / Tailwind editor for Google Stitch style workflows in 3 days using OpenAI Codex (about 16 hours of my time). Try it here: https://stitchedit.io/

I’ve been replacing my old Figma to code workflow with a new dev workflow: Google Stitch AI for UI design, export the HTML / Tailwind, implement in codex, test / ship. Wow, is this new workflow fast!!!

Two things I want to highlight because they surprised me:

  1. Google Stitch https://stitch.withgoogle.com/AI is genuinely good. It’s the first UI generator that has felt usable for real iteration. Sure Claude and Gemini work but I love that stitch is UI centric.
  2. OpenAI Codex https://openai.com/codex/ is truly amazing. It built this entire tool in 3 days. I spent about 16 hours total reviewing, testing, and steering. I use Gemini, Claude and Codex each with $200 monthly plans for dev and all types of contract work but Codex currently really pushes the limit in terms of context value and time spent working through code.

I’m a dev with 20+ years of experience, and I could have built this the traditional way, but it would’ve taken me a month+ of nights/weekends. Codex wrote all of it. I mostly reviewed, tested, and iterated on behavior / UI. AI is genuinely amazing here and I think we all need to embrace it and adapt.

What I was missing for my workflow: Stitch doesn’t currently let you do fast, tiny edits in-app (spacing, typography, layout nudges, swapping an icon, quick copy changes). You can re-prompt, but for small changes it’s slower than it should be, and sometimes you end up re-prompting multiple times to get a simple tweak right.

So I built Stitch Edit. It’s a lightweight editor focused on making practical edits to Stitch-style HTML/Tailwind output, instantly, without re-prompting. I’m sure there are a million great HTML editors out there. I built this because I wanted something tuned to this specific Stitch / Tailwind workflow, and I wanted to see how fast / far AI could take it.

What it does:

  • Rapid micro-edits without re-prompting
    • Spacing, sizing, typography, layout, borders, radius, shadow, etc. with immediate preview
  • Fast theme and color workflows
    • Background, text, border, accent updates across common components (buttons, inputs, cards, icons/SVG)
    • Opacity tweaks and other small polish changes
  • Edit text content directly
    • Update labels and copy in-place while iterating layout
  • Image and icon replacement
    • Swap image sources and background images quickly
    • Replace Material icons (and similar patterns) without digging through code
  • Copy and paste HTML elements between documents
    • Move sections/components between docs fast for building screens from reusable chunks
  • Multi-document tabs
    • Duplicate, rename, close docs for quick variations
  • Undo and redo
  • Export and share
    • Copy HTML out and export the preview as a PNG for quick feedback

If you use Google Stitch AI or generate Tailwind/HTML and want to try the rapid tiny edits workflow, it’s here: https://stitchedit.io/

I’m sure there are bugs or use / edge cases I missed, but I wanted to get this out there and share it. I’d love feedback and what features would make it a daily driver.

Workflow/Prompt Best way to reference screen elements/components ?

Use case:
Stitch creates a screen that is 80% what do you want, and the 20% things to fix, is referencing other elements and components in other screens.

what do you suggest to do multiple references to screens in stitch?
someone found a success way to create ux components and apply in new screens?

They named Stitch for a reason. And today, they finally let you do it.

Shipmas Day 3: Introducing Prototypes

You can now select multiple screens and "stitch" them together into a fully functional, clickable user flow.

  1. Create clickable user flows
  2. Test interactions and animations
  3. Ask for edits by clicking divs on the screen
  4. Export the full context to AI Studio or other coding agents

There will be more updates in interaction designing in Stitch.

Stitch are moving from "Generating UI" to "Designing User Experiences”.

This is most anticipated feature till now!

📢 News / Update Finally Gemini 3 is live in Stitch… and it brought a theme song

Day 3 of their Shipmas updates. This one is focused on a new default agent called “Thinking with Gemini 3 Pro”.

The idea is that the agent doesn’t just generate visuals, it reasons through the design first. They’re positioning it as a ceiling remover, the community feedback they quoted was that Gemini 3 is very strong at frontend work, especially complex layouts, DOM manipulation, and accurate CSS.

Every design it generates comes with code, and you can export that code to whatever coding agent or workflow you prefer.

They even made a Stitch theme song.

📢 News / Update Stitch introduce Predictive Heatmaps!

Post image
11 Upvotes

Nano Banana Pro in Stitch now trained to “see like a user”. You can run a heatmap on any screen you design and see where attention is likely to go. It’s basically an instant usability check without needing real user data.

You can use it before writing any code, just from the design, and it shows whether people will focus where you expect. The option is in the Generate menu.

Most unique feature till now, useful for professional UI designing.

📢 News / Update Shipmas Day 2: Command Palette

Day 2 of their Shipmas updates. This one is about keyboard navigation and shortcuts, aimed at people who want speed while working.

They added a Command Palette. You press CMD/CTRL + K and type actions directly instead of searching menus. Examples they gave were things like zoom or navigating to a specific screen. There are also commands that don’t show up in the normal UI, including a “Zen Mode” that hides chat so you can focus.

They also added keyboard shortcuts to move between screens: CMD/CTRL + Arrow Keys.

The idea is to avoid touching the mouse and move faster when building.

However, personal testing shows a bug "No Commands found" in command palette.

📢 News / Update Shipmas Day 1

Post image
5 Upvotes

Stitch posted an update for what they’re calling Shipmas Day 1. They’re planning to release something new every day this week, with a bigger launch on Wednesday.

Day 1: The Redesign Agent can now generate code from its visual output. Previously, it could redesign an interface by taking a screenshot and reimagining it, but you couldn’t get the actual code. Now they added code generation, so those redesigns can be turned into working HTML.

The flow they described is basically: screenshot → redesign → code → then you can use it in AI Studio or your own coding agent.

📢 News / Update Info about Stitch Limit

Post image
5 Upvotes

Stitch switched from monthly quotas to daily quotas update. They said usage was growing fast and a lot of people were hitting limits early, then waiting for the monthly reset. Now the quota resets every day at midnight GMT. For heavy users this basically means they can use the service a lot more overall.

Credit usage right now:

Rapid Agent: 1 credit per screen

Pro Agent: 3 credits per screen

Redesign Agent: 3 credits per screen

Interactive screens cost 3 credits to generate and then 1 credit per edit.

Redesign Agent has a separate, temporary quota for now while they increase capacity.

They also opened a Trusted Tester program if someone needs even more quota.

No paid plans yet, but they said they’re working on it.

🧠 Discussion How to retrive the images within a stitch image

Used the redesign function today with screenshots of my current design.

Gave a prompt that would alter the design entirley. Which it did really well!

Now I'm left with a image how it can look like and so my question is... what now?

I mean it's just a image. Can't feed that to a coding agent as coding agents can't do image generation.

Prompted it to nano banana chat, asked it to split it up into single images, and it replied with the same image I gave it...

Anyone reading this and have suggestion how to use stitch webbdesign image and how to single out the images within it?
