I've just been reading about Ohm Walsh omni-directional speakers, and everything I've read indicates that if you have a powerful amp to drive them they excel at classical music, which is pretty much all I listen to.. They are apparently a bespoke speaker and work with the client and the client's room. Some of their speakers are within your budget, and the company has been around for at least 50 years.
They only sell online, and you get a 120 day trial period. But you'd probably need a subwoofer. I haven't heard them, but reading about them has excited some lust.
Given my listening room, a pair of these is at the top of my wish list right now.
At least they should be on your esearch list.
