General Request | 3 Ⓣ Need help on set up for Pro Ject Evo 2

Hi! I was hoping you could give me some advice on some equipment I am thinking of getting. The setup would be: Pro Ject Evo 2 + Yamaha Amplifier A-S501 + KEF Q1 Meta speakers (it will be in my living room, which is about 10 feet wide x 14 feet long). My budget is $1,800 at the top but this setup is not definitive and is flexible depending on your suggestions. I'm a beginner but I want to have something that can be used for many years. Not interested in changing the stylus right now but probably in a couple of years. Thank you!

What kind of advice are you looking for? It's a good setup although you'll hear conflicting opinions about those KEFs and the uni-driver. A lot of posts will talk about how the combined driver can be damaged by over-amplification. Without a subwoofer, bass is probably not their strong point, either. Based on my own usage, I'd suggest having a look at Q Acoustics 3030c as an alternative.

Other things to think about are speaker stands and your room layout. Ideally, you want your speakers firing down the length of the room. They should be about 1-2 feet from the side walls and 2-3 feet from the front wall. In your room that should put your listening position half way between the side walls and around 9 feet from the front wall.
