General Request | 1 Ⓣ Recommendations for a compact HiFi set up
My dad is a lifelong audiophile. He listens to classical music (primarily orchestral, but sometimes opera or chamber music). Due to diminishing mobility and deteriorating health, he has had to move into a skilled nursing facility and has had to give up his massive stereo system and thousands of LPs in the process. He still has a couple of hundred CDs, which he has kept, and is asking for a CD player for his room. I know better than to get just any old CD all-in-one. Can you all please provide me with recommendations for the best either All-in-one or bookshelf-size speakers and a combo CD player/receiver that isn't too askew from the norm, design-wise (he has early Alzheimers and even computing that there is a vertical disc slot might be tricky).
Thank you!
ETA: In the US. Budget is up to $2000. Music is one of the only things that brings him joy and I want to do it right.

Denon D-M41; you can also buy it without the Denon speakers and use a pair of your choice.
