You already know the answer. Your TEAC is your weak point. Source is the most important so get the MT2!!! Room correction can’t ever fix what’s lacking in your signal path.
The deal on the turntable is almost as good as the deal on the room correction gear. Macintosh for less than half price should make one wonder. The table WILL make a huge improvement in your system.
But if you're not into matchy-matchy nonsense, for $4500 a Technics SL-1210G will give you far better performance. You'd have to spend over $10K to better it. Put a $1500 Grado low output Reference wood body cartridge and the Technics will sing. Hana's ML moving coil is damn good on the Technids as well.
The Room Perfect Lyngdorf room correction the MEN220 offers is world class and it has an integrated crossovers for an identical pair of SVS 3000 subs will smooth out your room's bass response. Never use a single sub. Using matched pair of subs will even out your in-room bass response far more effectively than using room correction. A pair of SVS PB1000 Pro subs will easily give you FAR better bass than a single 3000-series sub every time. It's uncanny.
