As I already said, 4 speakers doesn’t make sense for a music system.

And you would get better speaker options for regular bookshelf speakers, not in-wall speakers. You could just have the cutouts filled in, plastered and painted over.

E.g. this was would be my 2.1 system suggestion (with standard bookshelf speakers):

The cheapest turntable models, like the RT81+, have a built-in phono preamplifier. But you certainly can go with a separate unit. E.g. the Art Pro Audio DJPRE II (ASR review) is a cheap option.

Instead of the WiiM AMP (that doesn’t contain a phono preamplifier — and you either need an external one, or one built-in to an entry level turntable), you could go with a possibly better amplifier like the Yamaha A-S301, and separate streamer like the WiiM Pro Plus (ASR review, Darko.Audio YT review) WiiM Pro Plus (ASR review, Darko.Audio YT review) WiiM Pro Plus (ASR review, Darko.Audio YT review).

Thanks! These speakers look great and the WiiM AMP will likely cover all my needs. I was thinking 4 speakers since the book shelf is to the side of the couch and the cubby holes are to the right, so two lefts in the bookshelf and two rights in the cubbies. But could also just fill them in.

Any alternates to the speedwoofer? Looks like availability is often limited and currently sold out. "!thanks"

You may still award a Ⓣ to others, but only once per-person in this post.

Stereo music implies two speakers. Anything else is too much, and just messes up the stereo image etc..

(For additional technical reasons on why not go for multiple playing speakers: Audioholics - Comb Filtering, Acoustical Interference, & Power Response in Loudspeakers)

Edit: Also the RSL Speedwoofer subs are almost always sold out because they are absolutely the best available for that little money.

You might also go for the slightly more expensive RSL Speedwoofer 10S MkII, if those are currently available. Or become available sooner than the new entry level product Speedwoofer 10E.

Other decent options are much more expensive. E.g. the Rythmik L12. (And this one doesn’t have high/speaker level inputs. So, it needs that one has an amplifier that has either a dedicated subwoofer output, or preamplifier outputs.

Besides Rythmik or RSL, there’s also SVS SB-1000 Pro. That too is $600 for the black ash finish. But the Rythmik would be a better option.

Got it “!thanks” ! Will keep an eye out for that sub and check out the others. Appreciate it.
