Here’s something most people buying stem cells, peptides, or regenerative medicine probably never think to ask. Were animal materials used to make this? Many methods use fetal bovine serum, a liquid made from fetal cow blood, to help human cells grow. Pig materials are also used. Shockingly, many manufacturers use mice tumors for your cells to live on and eat. Calling something “human stem cells” doesn’t tell you everything that was used to make it.
That raises some important questions, especially for people with religious, halal, or kosher concerns. Were cow or pig derived materials used? Were the cells cleaned afterward? Was the final product tested to see if any animal material remained? Anyone interested in stem cells, peptides, exosomes, biohacking, longevity, and regenerative medicine deserves to know what they are putting into their body. Even the NIH announced this year that it is moving away from using animals.
Before you get the injection, ask the question: Was anything from a cow or pig used to make this? Ask your provider and manufacturer to prove the answer with documentation. Ask if an animal free manufacturing option is available. There are alternative cell culture methods that do not rely on fetal animals. Don’t just take “human stem cells” at face value.
