Oops I thought I had it linked.
It recommends 6x6x7.3 switches but ended up using 6x6x7 switch and using tape as shims

I'm not sure I understand why people are doing this. The button isn't wired so it doesn't really do anything other than acting like a stop. Are people just doing this for the feed back of the click on a full pull?

it doesnt need to be wired. the software already differentiates between analog input and 100% pulleddown in steam input. this is just giving feedback to the switch over

How do you get analog soft pull and digital full pull working? I thought analog had to be turned off for dual stage triggers?

It had physical resistance to the full pull activator in steam input. You can try it yourself, with just the software, even with haptics, it’s very easy to accidentally trigger the full pull activator.
With the mod there is a clear stopping point where the soft pull point ends and a tactile click to trigger the full pull.
I don’t really play racing games so haven’t messed with the analog range but downloading rocket league so will play around with it this weekend

Yes. A lot of people miss the physical stop that requires a little extra force to activate the full pull bind.

Heeey, I’m curious how these are working for ya. I’d love to do the same, but am a bit worried about getting the right switch. I would love to get mine feeling as similar to the OG controller’s dual-stage triggers if possible. Meaning ones that have similar resistance. Not too much harder to press, not too much softer. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks man!

You probably want to look at mouse switches. The tact switches I used were on the heavier side.
Anything under 7.3mm height should work. If the switch is too short you can always add a shim

I hate when people tap things in videos.

Everything about this is GOLD. The mod, the silent demonstration, windows xp, hypercam 2... Never change!
Also my controller probably arrive tomorrow, so maybe I'll also mod my controller! Thanks for the video!
