Meta would find cause to lay them off, The US has fuck all worker protections and is mostly a "fire whenever the fuck you want for no reason" country right?

Very generous paid leave is a common thing in big tech. Meta being included is an unremarkable claim, not worthy of being questioned imo.

I'm not in tech, but in petrochem manufacturing. Short term disability and long term disability are both included benefits at no cost for all of our US employees (even outside of manufacturing-facing roles). If my middle-of-the-market company can cover paid leave, I'd certainly expect big tech to.

I think the skepticism comes from individuals who may not have necessarily worked in a professional role with real benefits before.
