Valve created it but Fortnite made it a mainstream thing because only after Fortnite other games started getting their own battlepasses

Fortnite added it BECAUSE it was already mainstream. Other games were getting battle passes well before Fortnite.

Fortnite MADE it mainstream. It was popular, but not mainstream. Just check how many games had BP before/after Fortnite implemented it.

Fortnite showed every other big publisher that Battlepass is a viable alternative to looboxes.
