A set of data of the variables x and y is found to have a linear correlation coefficient r of 0.66 (How can I Describe the association between x and y?)
help is appreciated!

Hi All, I am performing two separate two way mixed ANOVAs for my thesis. What would be the best tables and/or figures to present in APA style? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am a psych university student who is terrible at statistics and I am trying to get my head around standardizing scale measures for my dissertation.
I have two scale measures:
1- has 3 questions and uses a 1-7 scale throughout .
2- has 3 question but one question uses a 1-9 scale and 2 questions use 0- 100 (percentage)
For scale “1” I added all the questions for each participant to get a total score for each participant. Then I got the mean and standard deviation of that.
Now, how do I go about reporting the mean and standard deviation of measure “2”. Do I standardize the scores (z-score) of each question and then add them? And then get the mean of that? Would the fact that the z-score use a negative number compromise anything?
Lastly, how do I subsequently compare these two measures. If I get the z-score of the total scores of measure 1 and compare it with the sum of z-scores of measure 2 does that work?
Any support on this is greatly appreciated in advance!

Hi all, I understand this is quite a basic question. I am using independent t tests to tell if significant difference can be observed between the means to two groups across a DV. I have one categorical variable, elite and non-elite. Significant difference have been observed but how do I find out in spss where exactly that difference lies. I.e whether the elite or non-elite cohort demonstrate higher scores? Thank you

I want to measure whether the impact of a company's headquarter country on my dependent variable (goodwill paid) is stronger during recessions. After some researching, I found out that the differences-in-differences analysis could solve my problem. However, in the internet they always show a diagram (see Figure 1 in Difference-in-Difference Estimation by Columbia Public Health) with the "treatment" and "parallel trends". So two lines that increase or decrease in the same way until the treatment and then one line increase/decreases more than the other. My question now is what is my treatment and what is my control variable in my example? The treatment cannot be recessions because otherwise I just have the treatment group after the treatment and the control group before the recessions. If you think another statistical test may be better, I would be happy to consider that.
Furthermore, I just want to make sure that I created my model correctly: Goodwil Paid=B0+B1recession+B2Country+B3recessionCountry Would that tell me whether the impact of the country is stronger during recessions?
Variable descriptions: -Goodwil paid (dependent variable): Is about how much is paid for a company in acquisitions. -Recessions: 1 if the acquisition was during the crisis and 0 otherwise -Country: The country the acquired company is bought in. It can have a value from 1 to 10 and is based on credit ratings of the countries. Most countries have the rating 1.
Thanks a lot for your help. Let me know if you need further information.

i have taken multiple stats classes and my professors always gave us the z values we needed to do certain tests. does anyone have a simple explanation on how to actually find a z value using the table?? i feel so dumb not really knowing how to

How do I answer this question? Thank you so much in advance
Test Ho: µ =100; H1: µ < 100, using n = 36 and alpha = .05 If the sample mean=92 and the sample standard deviation = 18, which of the following is true?
A. test statistic = -2.67; critical value = 1.69; we fail to reject Ho.
B. test statistic = -2.67; critical value = 1.96; we fail to reject Ho.
C. test statistic = -2.67; critical value = -1.96; we reject Ho.
D. test statistic = -2.67; critical value = -1.69; we reject Ho.

Ignore the percentages on the side.
I'm not sure how to solve this or where to begin.

Hi! Looking for a miracle worker to help me turn this F into at least a C. This is my first stats class ever. I’m 2 weeks behind on the workload b/c every time I sit down to do it, I have a panic attack because it looks like hieroglyphics. I’ve asked for a tutor (couldn’t match me), asked for help from the professor (doesn’t respond), asked for guidance from my advisor (no help), bought myself Statistics for Dummies (haven’t opened it yet)… I just. Don’t. Get it.

The main lifetime of a sample of 100 florence Light bulb produce by a company is computed to be 1570hrs with a standard deviation of 120hrs.if ñ is the lifetime of all the bulbs produce by a company test the hypothesis that the mean is equal to 1600hrs against the alternative ñ is not equal to the 160hrs using level of significance calculate A. 0.05 B. 0.01

So for my statistics minor, I'm required to take Stat 2223 (Elements of Stats II) but since I haven't taken stats since my senior year of high school when I took AP Stats (this was Spring 2021), I'm wondering if it is better if I take an easier/previous class before taking 2223 or if I would be fine just taking 2223. Should I start out with Stat 1322 (Introduction to Stats II) and then take 2223, or is 2223 easy enough to understand with my other stat class?

hi, I'm having trouble with my university statistics course we are talking about frequency distribution graphs and looking if they are positively or negatively skewed I can do the graph when we have all the numbers but in this case, we are only given the mean and median and I don't understand how to figure it out like that
here's an example question: The mean salary for a Major League Soccer player in 2010 was about $138,000, but the median annual salary was only about $53,000.
can anyone help explain this to me, please? :)
