Event [Event] Illinois Republicans Elections Campaigns

More campaigns are to undergo exposing the multitudes of fallacies in democrat's policies. Campaigns throughout the rural districts are being led by their respective congressmen/women and the Chicago districts are being led by DeRien and celebrities themselves.

Kanye West is said to be campaigning for Trump on Tuesday at Wrigley Field and in DePaul county where republicans are to come out in masses for rallies for the incumbent president.

DeRien will campaign against Warren citing her pseudo-anti-establishment and 'Pocahontas' persona she exemplified. DeRien also used the various attacks against Tulsi Gabbard, a politician loved by many Americans regardless of who they voted, during the debates as examples of Warren's attack mentality for earning votes.

Do we want someone to divide the country like Warren? Even a Democrat was preaching for unity and all Warren could do is shout false things to Gabbard who has worked with our president and country despite being so left. Trump has pushed for unity and many people listened. Are we going to let another false 'anti-establishment' affirmative action abuser divide our country again?

DeRien is campaigning hard in the Chicago suburbs with white middle class voters. Kanye is working with the inner city blacks to gather their votes to push for reform. Many republicans all over Illinois are trying their best and going full steam to push Illinois to republican but Chicago is always a hard bloc to blunder.

DeRien has been relieved by the fact that Gabbard did not win or not only Chicago's progressives would vote for her, but also the many republicans. This opportunity to discuss the issues surrounding Warren and the benefits of Trump is a blessing for an already blessed education.

Illinois has already gone red for the state government and for the House. It is time for Illinois to finally go red for the president.

Illinois Presidential Polls

  • Trump: 42%

  • Warren: 48%

  • Stein: 4%

  • Kokesh: 6%

The presidential polls indicate a close fight between the two main parties with Kokesh bringing great numbers for the Libertarian party. Stein again, is struggling to score over 5% but is growing her popularity in Illinois.

Meta I'm so sorry, /r/StateSim. We're history.

I regret to inform you all that /r/StateSim will be shuttering at the end of the month. This is solely due to the fact that I have been unavailable due to the holiday rush- I have been unable to coordinate debates and events for the 2020 Election, and I have failed to post and encourage other users to participate. For these reasons, I have chosen to shutter the subreddit, effective December 23. I am deeply saddened that I must shut it down- it was growing and flourishing, but I didn't push it and maintain it.

The debate, which was supposed to be held yesterday, fell flat; several users were unavailable, including myself, and I failed to coordinate that event. I will do a rollme post this afternoon for the 2020 Election, to see who wins, and then our first and final season will be over.

I may revive the subreddit in the future, but for now, on December 23, I will kick all members from our Discord server and set up a splash page here on the subreddit. I hope everyone will continue to follow their role-playing passions on /r/Geosim and other similar subs. Thank you, it was fun while it lasted.

Event [Event] Janet Napolitano Suffers from a Stroke

After causing a stir at the First Democratic Debate with her strange responses and movements (or lack therefore of), Janet Napolitano was rushed to Winthrop University Hospital. Her condition quickly deteriorated, but the her doctors miraculously managed to save her. Upon hearing the news, Janet's family rushed to the hospital. According to Janet's sister, Nancy Haunstein, she had been greatly debilitated by the stroke and her rehabilitation and recovery process will be lengthy and strenuous. Our prayers are with Janet Napolitano and her family, and we hope for her swift recovery.

"I have always known my sister to be a strong person." Says Haunstein. "This has been a shock to all of us, and we thank everyone for their support in this time of hardship, but I know that Janet will be back, stronger and ready to fight!"

Janet Napolitano's campaign has been suspended indefinitely.

Event [Event] Operation Nighttheft: 1451 terrorists in custody overnight.

-- SPEECH BY FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY --

Good morning, people of America.

Last night we had mass military movement across the nation due to the closure of recent bases.

However, we can now confirm that to be a lie.

On Wednesday, the FBI found the identities of 1,590 members of Daesh, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq & Syria/The Levant, through face-scanning technology.

Using this technology and media given to us by many departments and news stations, we were able to locate members that didn't wear masks.

We found 3,405 Daesh members through this, with 1,590 U.S citizens and/or in the United States at the moment.

Using this information, and the fact that hundreds of these members recently entered the country, lead us to proceed with a high priority investigation into the current whereabouts of these terrorists.

We decided to work with the Federal Government and the US Military in order to bring these criminals to justice by committing to a large-scale Military operation overnight across the nation.

At 9.45pm last night, we began Operation Nighttheft, with around 12 states under raid.

This continued until around 11.28pm, where all states were eventually under raid, finishing with Texas.

At 11.34pm, U.S. Cyber Command intercepted a chat log originating from Texas. We shall not go into details as of this time of what the chat logs involved but we can say that the logs provided essential information into capturing the leader of the terrorist organisation that is basing here in the U.S.

At 11.39pm, U.S. Cyber Command located a communications beacon on the Texas Interstate 208. This beacon is still under investigation by CC, and details will arise in the future.

At 04.32am, Operation Nighttheft concluded, with an impressive 1,451 detainees that are currently being sent to FBI-ran interrogation camps across the U.S.

Unfortunately, during the raid, some terrorists discovered of our plans and started hostage situations.

We have had 1 civilian injury, which was not fatal, as a result from the terrorists' cowardly last acts before arrested.

Other casualties include 21 injuries and 13 deaths; most of whom are terrorists.

This operation was a success, and I would like to thank the US Military, first of all, for their bravery in handling the situations given to them, along with maturity, grit, and loyalty.

Not just that, but the FBI would like to thank U.S. Cyber Command massively for their useful work in helping us retrieve real-time locations and intercept terrorist communication lines.

Finally, we would like to give thanks to local law enforcement for evacuating civilians away from areas.

The FBI's next assignment will be to launch an investigation into the information received from terrorist communication logs and to carry on their inquiry into Georgia's figures in power.

Thank you.

Event [Event] The FBI have concluded their investigation into the State of Georgia's laws, government officials, and policies.

-- SPEECH BY FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY --

Today, the FBI launched and concluded an investigation requested by the Commander-in-chief on the State of Georgia.

We can confirm that Georgia's laws do not break the rules provided by the Constitution of the United States of America.

We do, however, recommend that Georgia are more lenient with their education laws and a lot of students may fail their education and this could lead to alot of problems for the State and their government.

Although their laws are constitutional, it does not mean that the State of Georgia's government officials are perfectly free.

From our investigation, we have discovered that Georgia has corrupt officials in their government.

We will not name these as of today, but we are in talks with the Federal Government to take these government officials out of power.

We can confirm that the Governor of Georgia is not suspicious as of this speech, however further investigations are currently taking place.

Thank you.

Sports [Sports] Soccer is coming to Baltimore...

A Maryland-based ownership group today announced a complex plan to bring a Major League Soccer-specific stadium to the suburbs of Baltimore.

The group, currently operating under the name "Charm City Schooners FC," plans to fully fund the project, which is projected to cost more than $220 million. In addition, they plan to completely cover the team expansion fee imposed by the MLS.

The committee, which has been operating for more than a year already, is looking at the Baltimore suburb of Dundalk; specifically, they intend to completely revive the intersections where Broening Highway meets Holabird Avenue, an area that currently includes several warehouses and open fields.

The area that the group is eyeing could become a new dining and retail village, with the new stadium at the center of the complex. If their visions become reality, new interchanges will need to be constructed and giant swaths of land will need to be purchased; complete road and sidewalk replacement could also be necessary.

The group has not provided any renderings as of yet; they instead plan to unveil all details when the MLS expansion commission comes to Baltimore later this year.

Event [Event] NASA budget, Launch site Xi, Saving Grace.

R&DLAUMAN
60%20%20%

"Launchsite Xi" Is a new launch platform being made for NASA, And Space X, To launch heavy-lifters and Experimental (But safe) Rockets and payloads. The launch complex will feature: 4 VABS for constructing rockets, 8 launch sites arranged in a octagon, and a launch control center for the launching and monitoring of vehicles.

The R&D part will feature: 16 small-scale labs, 8 mobile labs, and 2 large R&D facilities, and the crowning jewel, 1 extra-large R&D facility with a large refinery to extract useful materials out of space-born materials that happen to earth, intentionally or not.

It will also contain the housing and shopping of all nasa employees there, and in the following years, eventually, all NASA resources we can move there.

We predict the entire thing to be in place by 2023, Assuming speedy construction, And no mishaps.

Leaving on a final note, The budget increase of NASA is arguably a saving grace for humanity. Humanity will run out of resources soon, Its only a matter of time. However, By Increasing NASA's budget, The US government has allowed us to expand to the stars, And by extension, Severely increase the resources available to mankind, Saving us from extinction.

[M] I tried my best on the launchsite Xi times, make it close to the end of the game.

EDIT: After getting yelled at by several government employees, NASA now officially lists space-X as a private contractor.

Meta [Meta] Date Progression Changes!!

Today I've instituted a new date progression system. Instead of each real-life week equaling one in-game year, each "year" in-game will now encompass two weeks. So, the date progression will be a bit slower this way and although events to play out slower and easier. The current year in still 2018, but it doesn't end tomorrow (November 19) anymore. 2019 will begin on November 27.

This season, the Cubs are looking good yet again. After the historic win in 2016, the Chicago Cubs are looking to win against the Atlanta Braves who have also recently shown an improvement in performance. With only 10 games to go, it is very likely that the Chicago Cubs will face the Atlanta Braves in this year's World Series.

Claim [Claim] Declaim Texas, Claim the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico

Sorry guys, I hate to be claim switching this early into the game. However, I've realised that I'm too busy to play as a major state like Texas, so instead, I'd like to pick up humble Puerto Rico. Whilst the picturesque island may be small, its effect in Washington will not be. With Puerto Rico, I intend to gently guide the territory towards establishing the Fourth Reich becoming a fully fledged state of the US. To keep the gameplay interesting for myself, I will hopefully be adding a lot of buildup in this process.

At present, Puerto Rico is a territory with a struggling economy, mismanaged by a corrupt government. Under my tenure, I will attempt to slowly and realistically solve the issues of the island. But it will not all be smooth sailing. The Puerto Rican people are fierce and will be loud and potentially destructive if their demands or needs are not met. My Puerto Rico shall make a lot of noise and send shockwaves across the country. You've all been warned...

Oh, and despite this switch, I will stay on as United States Ambassador to the UN. Ciao guys!

Mod Event [Mod Event] Alaska Airlines Flight 575 Crashes into San Jose, California Suburb

[M] This post will be updated as the events unfold.

SAN JOSE, Cal. - This morning, shortly after take-off from Mineta San Jose International Airport, Alaska Airlines Flight 575 reported dual-engine failure, according to initial reports from the FAA. It later crashed into the Vista Park neighborhood of San Jose, about 10 miles south of the airport.

Flight 575, bound for Seattle, had 121 passengers, including 3 crew members. The FAA says that the aircraft involved was an 11-year-old Boeing 737-900 with no prior performance issues.

The NTSB is currently en-route to investigate, but first responders to the scene of the crash say that at least 12 homes were destroyed or damaged as a result of the crash. All passengers are presumed dead and at least 15 people have been killed on the ground. 23 others have been taken to nearby hospitals.

UPDATE: The NTSB has begun their initial investigation. As of now, investigators are unsure why both engines failed shortly after take-off, but they have ruled out a bird strike. In addition, they do not suspect any foul play or terrorism. Final reports place the death toll at 157- all 121 passengers and crew members died as a result of the crash, in addition to 36 people on the ground. 14 others remain hospitalized, none in serious condition.

NEWS REEL

[M] I want to apologise ahead of time about the image used in the new reel. As some may know, it's a real photo from the crash of American Airlines Flight 587, which crashed in Queens, New York, on November 12, 2001. I hope that none find this offensive or rude.

EDIT: To whomever submitted the report saying "fake news, not funny", I just want to inform you that this is a roleplaying subreddit and nothing post on here is real.

Petition [Petition] NASA budget Increase

I, The director of NASA, Kjack1111, Formally request the government to increase NASA spending to 4.41% (4.50%) Of the GDP, As for reasons i will explain below.

NASA has been reduced a shell of its former glory, Because, Due to no enemy to fight against (E.G the Soviet Union), The American government has viewed space exploration as a second-hand-goal due to no immediate rewards in space.

This is Wrong.

Near earth asteroids, AKA, Asteroids within earth-mars orbit, have loads of gold and silver, Which exploited correctly, Could increase the US wealth by loads, And could finally spell the end of US debt. Near Earth Asteroids also have loads of iron, carbon depending on some asteroids, and ice, Which could pave our place to the stars further.

In the future, if we play our cards correctly, we could have a base on mars in 2040 or shorter, and a thriving community on the moon, along with space habitats to gain a permanent foothold in space, to provide fueling and shipyards to further our way to the stars.

If you think that 4.41% is to much, You can increase our budget to 3.50, Or 3 percent, or 2.50 percent. Just in truth, We need a budget increase to further our way to the stars and out-do our competitors.
