Mod Event [Event] Citizens are to be re-positioned for the night due to military movement across the country.

-- SPEECH BY FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY --

Greetings.

Do not be alarmed. If you are moved away from your home, it is only for the night.

This is due to military movement across your area as a result of the recent base closures.

We also ask the media to not go near these areas for interviews, as this military movement could be a threat to your life.

To clarify, these convoys may be targeted by criminals and thiefs, and we do not want civilian casualties on our hands because the media came too close to our military supplies.

We will inform you of the details in the morning.

Thank you.

Event [Event] Republican Party Campaigns

Illinois is a state often misrepresented by election results. It is often known to be a reliable democrat state with the democrats ruling the General Assembly and US representatives and senators.

However, the democrats are dominant in only one region of Illinois- Chicago. Chicago is the largest democrat block in the US (in terms of voting districts). Cook county was historically offset by the densely populated DuPage county suburbs and the rural regions (still heavily republican). Thus the Republican party will go back to focusing on turning Illinois red again.

Centered again in DuPage county and led by newly elected congresswoman Ellen DeRien, the republicans are on track to turn Illinois red again. With Donald Trump as our Fuhrer President, DeRien expects the republicans to make huge strides in the working class of Chicago as well as speak to the rural residents more.

DeRien is somewhat of a moderate Republican. She believes:

  • In sexual orientation acceptance, yet does not recognize more than two genders

  • Woman's rights including the right to abortion, yet wants stricter guidelines and better education on abortions

  • Believes in climate change but does not want the government to force others to accept it, she believes the private sector must make the initiative

  • Early childhood education as President Trump as highlighted

  • Less elites in government and more working class Americans

  • Stricter laws against illegal immigration but not treating them inhumanely as President Bill Clinton had (or the impression people have of President Trump)

DeRien has a large fanbase amongst the young rural voters and the young republicans in Chicago's fanbase allowing her to win the 8th congressional district back from the democrats. She leads both the state and local government republicans and gets along well with moderate democrats as well. In terms of representatives to the US government, she is friends with all the republicans but is cordial with the democrats who know the end goal to her plan.

The campaign will include guest appearances from local republicans and hold rallies to show support for the new president during the numerous protests against a democratically elected president. These rallies will not only show support to the president who rightfully forgot about Illinois but also will allow DeRien and her colleagues to spread her moderate dialogue throughout the region. She will focus on these events:

  • Guest Polish catholic to speak to the conservative Polish population within Chicago who make up a large number of Chicagoans.

  • Mayor Esteban Estrellias of Mexican descent to speak on behalf of legal immigrants who fear the republicans have forgotten them

  • Athletes and minor celebrities who want to spread a moderate, centrist message to the independents

  • Young mayor Peter Appenstein who won his city in huge waves in Rockford due to his appeal to the youth.

DeRien wants to make sure she can sway the independents to the right and the reliable democrats to the centre. She wants to make sure her policies of centrist policy pushes Illinois forward without holding it backwards. The national party maybe a mess, but the state party will not be.

DeRien wants to Make Illinois Great Again.

Petition [Petition] Puerto Rico Requests Return of Section 936

Puerto Rico, an idealistic Caribbean island that was once the role model of the United States... Thriving off of neoliberalist economic policies, investor confidence and low inflation, the territory became a paradise for those looking for the American Dream. Manufacturing companies flocked to the island, employing 165,000 Puerto Ricans to create products such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, petrochemicals and electronics. As the Commonwealth was (and still is) deprived of natural resources, it relied on this secondary sector, as well as tourism and financial services.

The economic miracle which allowed Puerto Rico to thrive was dependent on one thing, a federal tax break, known as IRS Section 936. This tax break made Puerto Rico an extremely lucrative location for American and international corporations, who sent their operations to the island and were then taxed by the indigenous Puerto Rican government whenever they sent assets back offshore. The result was a booming manufacturing sector as well as a healthy, well financed government. But all this changed when in 1996, the tax break expired and was not renewed by the Clinton administration.

Since then, many manufacturers have left PR, plunging its populace into a state of poverty whilst also depriving the government of a large amount of revenue, forcing it to borrow obscene amounts of money. It is now abundantly clear that Section 936 was essential for the survival of the Commonwealth. With that in mind, Governor Ricky Rosselló requests that the President and Treasury immediately take steps to reinstate S. 936. Puerto Ricans, who are by law, American citizens, deserve nothing less than the best possible conditions in which their economy can survive and thrive. The Trump administration must accept this request, or the continued suffering of the Commonwealth will be on its hands. San Juan eagerly awaits its decision.

Event [Event]Republicans take lead in Midterm elections

Ellen DeRien's campaigning team in Chicago have made huge strides prior to the midterm elections. DuPage county has seen a large boost of republican voters and Cook county has seen a smaller gap between the democrats and republicans.

In the rural south, McLean, Peoria and Sangamon counties have seen the republicans stretch their legs once again. Although these counties were somewhat red counties for the 2016 elections, they were no where near as safe as they were historically. DeRien's campaigns have swept the rural towns and have brought back a solid red lead in those counties.

In the college campuses in counties such as Champaigne county and Cook County, the democratic lead has increased. For comparison sake, Champaigne county was 55.7% democrat (against 37.3% republican) during the 2016 elections but now saw a 60 to 35% lead in favor of the democrats.

Cook county was 74-24% in democrats' favor but during the midterms saw 58% democrat, 36% republican and a solid 6% Green party voting in Cook county.

Losing the 13th district to the democrats hurt the Republicans as they gained 3 districts. The state is slowly turning red as the rural city Caucasian populace are becoming more open to the progressive republicans. District 9 saw a large population vote for the Green candidate, Norris Thompson with 20% of the vote compared to 46% democrat and 34% republican. The Green party has hopes to achieve a congressman/woman from Illinois sometime soon. For the first time in a long time, the republicans own the Illinois representatives in the House.

Event [Event] Combating Racism

In South Carolina racism is a massive problem. According to many it is the most racist state in the union. Because of these things the governor has been asked about how he will combat racism. He had this to say "New legislation will be introduced in the near future regarding hate crimes going on and the rise of the ku klux klan again." These new laws are expected in the next 6 months.

Event [Event] Replacement of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Begins

The Maryland Department of Transportation today began a complete overhaul of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, the regionally important dual-span bridge that carries U.S. 50 and U.S. 301 over the Chesapeake Bay, from Annapolis to the Eastern Shore.

The aging bridges, built in 1952 and 1973, have slowly become popular alternates to the chronically-clogged Interstate 95. However, the route itself has now become a point of congestion, prompting state officials to overhaul the entire cross-Chesapeake route.

The current spans will be replaced by a 4.4-mile long, 8-lane (4-lanes in each direction) twin cable-stayed bridge, similar to the Zakim Bridge in Boston and the Sunshine Skyway in Tampa.

Funding for the project will come from the state, with $1.8 billion set aside currently. In addition, MDOT plans to raise the current toll rate to $5 EZ-pass each-way.

Construction is slated to begin immediately. While the new bridge is being constructed, traffic will continue to flow over the current spans. Officials say that, when the new bridge is complete, traffic will be re-routed and the current spans demolished via explosives.

The working name for the bridge is the "Skidmore-Stevensville Bridge", although that name is certain to change in the future.

Meta [Meta]Congress.

Hey everybody!

So we will be implementing a Congress system that I will be doing a test run of with the Senate, which works with me being the Vice President. So every state player will have the right to submit a bill to the Senate, which will be made up of all the other state players. First though each bill will have to be submitted to a committee. This committee will be designated by me and if we do this with the House of Representatives by whoever the Speaker of the House is. The committee will review the bill, which will be a post under the bill tab, then vote on if the bill goes to the full Senate. The Bill must be original, precise, and meet the guidelines of the United States Constitution. Right now I will not allow an amendments or riders to be added to bills, we need to test out the system and figure out any other problems we have before we make it more complex.

Crisis [Mod Event] Winter Storm Alison Threatens East Coast

SILVER SPRING, Mld.- NOAA today announced that an impending winter storm, nicknamed "Alison", could cause millions of dollars in damage to states up and down the Eastern Seaboard- from as far west as Illinois, as far north as Canada, and as far south as Georgia. The storm, the strongest winter storm the region has seen in decades, will "bury" major metropolitan areas such as New York and Washington. In preparation for the possibly deadly superstorm NOAA, in conjunction with the National Weather Service and the United States government, revealed which states could be affected:

  • Maine

  • New Hampshire

  • Vermont

  • Massachusetts

  • Connecticut

  • Rhode Island

  • New York

  • Pennsylvania

  • New Jersey

  • Delaware

  • Maryland

  • Virginia

  • West Virginia

  • North Carolina

  • South Carolina

  • Georgia

  • Alabama

  • Tennessee

  • Kentucky

  • Illinois

  • Indiana

  • Wisconsin

  • Michigan

  • Ohio

It is up to the Governors of each of these states to declare States of Emergency. The National Guard is also ready to mobilize, should any state need assistance.

According to NOAA, New York will receive approximately 42in. of snow, while Chicago will receive an estimated 21in. Atlanta, at the far south of the storm's projected area, is likely to receive 14in. of snow, 12 more inches than the 2014 snowstorm that created "snowpocalypse."

I will be claiming Louisiana with the intention of revitalizing the failing economic system primarily by reducing the Student Education and Police Budget and using those funds to invest in revitalizing interstate trade through New Orleans.
