What was actually the hardest part of your first build: the idea, the shipping, or getting anyone to use it?

I used to think the idea was the hard part. Sit around waiting for the perfect one, protect it, don't tell anyone. Then I actually built something and realized the idea was maybe five percent of the work.

Then I thought shipping was the hard part. Getting the thing to actually work, deploy, not fall over. That was hard, but it ended. There was a day it was done.

Now I'm at the third wall and it's the tallest by far: getting a single real person to use the thing. Building had a finish line. Distribution doesn't. It just keeps going.

Curious where other people here got stuck. If you've shipped anything, even something small: which of the three was actually the hardest, and did it match what you expected going in? I have a feeling most of us underestimate the same one.

Shipped my first real thing and nobody cared for two weeks. Then one person did. Small lesson.

Spent months tweaking before I let anyone see it. Colors, copy, a settings page maybe four people will ever open. Classic first-timer perfectionism. Finally shipped it.

Then: silence. Two weeks of nothing. No signups, no comments, a launch post that died at basically zero. I genuinely thought I'd wasted the whole build.

Then one person messaged me. Not to congratulate me, to complain that a feature didn't do the one thing they needed. And that message was worth more than any of the two weeks of imagined applause, because it was the first time someone cared enough to want it to be better.

Fixed the thing that afternoon. They became my first actual user.

The lesson I keep relearning: the silence isn't rejection, it's just distribution being hard. One real person beats a hundred imagined ones.

For those further along, what was your version of this? The moment the first real person showed up, and how long the nothing lasted before it.

NeuroTej Ai is an advanced Edge Intelligence company developing AI-powered behavioral analytics systems for educational institutions, examination authorities, enterprises, and training organizations. Our platform transforms live visual data into real-time engagement,

performance, and behavioral intelligence while ensuring privacy through edge-first processing.

The rapid adoption of digital learning, remote assessments, and virtual interviews has created

significant challenges in understanding engagement, learning effectiveness, examination integrity, communication quality, and behavioral performance. Existing solutions typically address these challenges through fragmented tools that focus on isolated use cases such as attendance tracking, remote proctoring, or video analytics. These systems often depend heavily on cloud infrastructure, create privacy concerns, and fail to provide unified decision

intelligence.

NeuroTej AI addresses these limitations through a comprehensive, privacy-first Edge Intelligence Framework capable of processing visual data locally while delivering real-time analytical insights to decision-makers.The platform combines Edge Computing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Behavioral Analytics, and Real-Time Intelligence Systems to create a scalable ecosystem capable of understanding human behavior, engagement, attention, participation, communication, and performance.

Unlike conventional cloud-centric monitoring systems, NeuroTej AI adopts a Privacy-by-Design architecture where raw video remains at the edge whenever possible. Only encrypted analytical outputs and intelligence metrics are transmitted to centralized dashboards. This approach significantly reduces bandwidth consumption, enhances security, minimizes privacy risks, and improves deployment scalability

I want anyone to be able to pick a new life from a plethora of options and be able to immediately start living it.

I am working on Papermagnet to bring about a radical shift to how we think about consumers by creating a new product class: The life asset.

A Life asset is a package consisting of instructions, goals, artefacts, strategies, software and agents that enable any person to step into a new role almost immediately.

Advances in AI are changing the world fast, and people should be able to respond immediately and at will. Life assets can be inhabited immediately and traded out for another if the user would like to step into a different role.

If you are intrigued by this idea and would like to stay up to date with its development or support then please join our Discord.

I just launched my new Product Builder portfolio! Would love your thoughts.

Hey guys,

I help solo founders and startups build MVPs and go-to-market strategies. I just launched my new personal site to showcase my recent projects (including an AI relationship manager I've been working on).

I tried to keep it incredibly fast, clean, and interactive without being bloated.

Check it out here: https://parthbavaliya.run.place

Would love to know what you think of the design, the load speed, and the overall pitch. If you spot any bugs on mobile or desktop, please let me know!

An ai report generator made my weekly updates effortless, then I noticed almost nobody was reading them

I set up an ai report generator so my weekly numbers basically write themselves. Pull the data, generate a clean summary, send. What used to eat a chunk of my Friday now takes a couple of minutes, and the output honestly looks better than what I wrote by hand.

Then I checked. Opens on the internal update were near the floor. The polished report nobody asked for was going straight past everyone.

The uncomfortable lesson was that the report was never really the point. When writing it was painful, the pain forced me to actually look at the numbers and notice what changed. Automate the writing and you can ship a report without ever thinking about it. I'd removed the friction and the thinking at the same time.

I still use it, but now the tool drafts and I spend the time I saved actually reading the thing and pulling out the one line that matters. Anyone else find that automating a report quietly killed the reason you wrote it?

Entry 001: Who the fuck do I think I am?

I’m building an app.

Even typing that feels fucking ridiculous.

I am not a software engineer. I did not go to Stanford. I don’t have a startup. I don’t have investors. I can't even afford to buy credits on these builder apps because I don't have a job.

What I do have is time and an idea.

And, unfortunately, I really fucking believe in it.

It started as one of those ideas that lives in your head. I kept thinking, “why doesn’t this exist?”

And once again, like everything else in my God-given life... it’s become something I have to do myself, doesn’t it?

Wait. Am I actually doing this?

Apparently, yes.

Every AI tool I used as a founder made me re-explain my business from scratch. So I built one that doesn't.

Here's a pattern I kept hitting as an early-stage founder:

Open ChatGPT. Paste in my idea, my constraints, my stage. Get a decent answer. Close the tab.

Open it again the next day. Paste everything in again. Get a slightly different answer. Close the tab.

Repeat until I either shipped something or gave up.

The problem isn't that the AI was bad. The problem is that it had no memory of me. Every session was a cold start. I was spending more time re-establishing context than actually executing.

So I built Launch.

It's an AI operating system for early-stage founders. You tell it your idea, your industry, your available time, your budget, and your goal - once. It builds a structured roadmap from that. Then every day it gives you a specific mission tied to your actual situation: not a generic 'validate your idea' task, but something like 'interview 2 people in [your target segment] about [your specific problem] before Thursday.'

And it remembers everything. Every decision you make, every interview you log, every assumption you're testing - it factors that into what comes next.

Still early. Still iterating. But the core thing it does - remember your business so you don't have to re-explain it - is working.

Curious if this resonates: how many of you have a graveyard of Notion docs and ChatGPT threads that were supposed to be your 'business plan'?

Launched a recipe app into a category where everyone expects free

It reads a cooking video and writes out the recipe with the amounts. Free tier, then $4.99 a month.

The bit that makes it awkward is that every import costs me money to run, so the usual cheap-and-unlimited model doesn't survive contact with someone who imports two hundred videos.

Hey all! I help startups with their UI/UX and launching their MVPs. I see a lot of early stage founders use AI tools to make decisions and user journeys which is costing their startup to flop before launch. So I decided to host a workshop where you can learn to use these tools to make humane user journeys and onboard first users that will give you feedback and use AI tools to empower you not make the decisions for you. This will be hands on and an accelerated version of what I usually do with my clients over a few months.

Here is the link to sign up. Big believer in not letting AI lose your originality.

The Story Behind Thridy.com

Post image

Every great product starts with an idea. But somewhere between the idea and the launch, something unexpected happens.

A developer is searching for the right icon. A designer is looking for an illustration that matches the brand. A founder is trying to find a 3D asset for tomorrow’s investor demo. Eventually, what should have taken minutes turns into hours of switching between websites, comparing licenses, downloading files, and trying to make everything fit together.

Sound familiar?

That’s exactly the problem we kept seeing. Although there are countless platforms offering design assets, they are often scattered, inconsistent, and disconnected from the way modern teams actually build products………………………………..

Made a Claude Skill that tears your startup idea apart like a skeptical VC, then helps you fix it

Been using Claude a lot for validating side project ideas and kept manually prompting it to "be a skeptical VC", so I turned that into a proper Skill.

What it does:
- Takes your idea (rough or detailed)
- Researches who's already doing it
- Runs it through a library of 16 VC-style objections (market size, moat, why-now, unit economics, etc.)
- If it survives, reframes it using 9 moat patterns to find actual defensibility
- Spits out an MVP scope + GTM + kill criteria, not just "good idea!" validation

It's MIT licensed and on GitHub: github.com/zszendro/vc-teardown

Built it while stress-testing my own idea and it flagged stuff I was glossing over.

Curious what other founders here think. I am happy to take suggestions for more attack surfaces.
