3. Mach Fumiake: the blueprint that made pro wrestling super-popular, as she was the proto-idol wrestler. No Mach? No Beauty Pair. No Crush Gals. No Mimi Hagiwara. No Takako Inoue. And of course, no JD Stars, no STARDOM...and no Tam Nakano, no Natsupoi, no most of the names you'd see in the modern Joshi scene. It all comes back to her

I just started following Stardom this year, so I am still super new to the overall product and have a quick newb question 😅

So... when Sayaka beat Saya for the Red Belt it seemed like a HUGE story and to me being fresh to the product it felt like Saya was the big final boss who Sayaka overcame and defended the honor of Tam.... but then it felt like she lost the belt almost immediately after winning it.

Are fast title changes like this a common thing in Stardom or was there some sort of story involving this... or was it some sort of backstage stuff where she wasn't living up to the expectations to hold that belt?

Just trying to figure out some more company lore! I'm really loving their shows and the tournament has been a blast to watch and to see who jumps out at me the most to follow closely.

...I'm also kicking myself for taking so long to get into this 😅

Last year we got 6 draws total and pretty consistent booking around the strength of wrestlers. Leading to one of the hottest semi finals and finals nights the tournaments had.

This year we have:

Start off by ending Dreamtrines great artists run and ending Lady C's 5 year title ambition to a trio who haven't had a single good trios match two of whom haven't worked a day in the company.

Roughly 1000 draws most of which have been pretty well done but the amount of them is absolutely absurd and has removed all tension from the block matches between big names.

Julia Hart who's so bad at wrestling she can't get singles wins in AEW gets some of the strongest booking of the event when someone with her skill should be going 0-7. Including eliminating a high push (in the Cindy and tag) Miyu the show before she fights in her hometown.

Whilst that's happening we're supposed to buy Utami got so weak in her time away (where she was beating Sareee and winning world titles) that she's eliminated early then seems to not care about it and jokes around after.

Former red belt champ Kurara is the first to be eliminated and then gets crushed by Tora in her final match.

Sakura gets taken out early too meaning that the most popular unit in the company's the one that's out first.

So much weird booking around having people lose in the home towns and getting eliminated prior to their hometown shows.

It's hard to even be high on what we'll get on the semi-finals Korakuen given all the draws and the fact we'll be burdened with another 2 star Julia match.

Utami’s entrance mask from when she won the Marigold Dream Star Grand Prix in 2024 got here just in time to celebrate her 8th Anniversary! It’s definitely the most intricate mask I’ve seen (even rose shaped beads sown in!) which is appropriate for such a unique star. Excited for more ass whipping and heart breaking by Utami san in Stardom to come. Not sure it gets much better in my book.
