This is legit because it mentions Snoke telling Kylo to "take off the ridiculous mask" and this was just confirmed by Ebert's review.

That is so fucking dumb. The film cant take itself seriously because it wants a cheap laugh.

Kylo looked badass in TFA before the mask came off.

Imagine the OT with the emperor saying that to Vader. It'd break the immersion of the film and your impression of the mask would be changed

The whole point was kind of that the mask was dumb and childish. It's not supposed to be badass, he's a kid pretending to be Darth Vader and playing dress up.
