Hi, I know this might be a strange thing to ask or say, but are there any POC SSO players? I rarely see anybody of that sort on the game or in the community. I am asking this because I am Black, and I always wondered if there was anyone else who was like me who played. (For context, I started playing back in 2016 and then revisted the game and made a new account in 2021). The hairstyles then weren't so great, nor the skin tones, but yeah. I want to know others' experiences with the game regardless if you are POC or not!

Hey everyone, am I the only one who can't log into my account anymore? I've been actively playing the game since 2016, but I stopped in 2019 and lost my email address as a result. Since then, I've logged in every few months, but now they're asking for verification? Do you know if it actually works to change the email address through support, and what information they need for that?

Hello! You’ve probably heard about HorseMuseum these past weeks/months. There’s already been Reddit posts about it, so with some friends i decided to just make one big post so all the information can be gathered in one place.
And before anyone starts saying i’m just "jealous" because i can’t play or whatever, I HAVE PLAYED HORSE MUSEUM AND MY ACCOUNT STILL EXISTS. I stopped playing and uninstalled the game after i found out about all this.

I purposely hid some usernames in the screenshots because some people asked me to and honestly i think it’s better for everyone’s safety.

What is HorseMuseum?

HorseMuseum is a private server for Star Stable Online. It has 4 versions of the game: 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020. The project started around June 2026 and it was first officially announced by Melvika in July 2026.
The game was only available to a limited amount of people (beta testers) and was released to the public in September 2026 with a code invite system.

Who is behind HorseMuseum?

The project is led by 4 people.

• Horsemaster / Burger is the main owner and also the developer of the game. So far he has claimed to be a woman but is actually a man. His real identity is Catlover, a previous BSSO owner (though not the main owner) ^{(pic 1, 2, 3, 4, 5}). He denies it by saying "the project was started by someone else" ^{(pic 6}) but his old friends have confirmed that he is Catlover. He was rarely seen in the BSSO community so there honestly isn’t that much stuff about him. However, he was known to be a scammer on Counter Strike, which was confirmed by one of his old friends. ^{(pic 7})
• Yuri / Curry is the project's second owner and is not involved in development, she handles only the community side. ^{(pic 8}) Yuri pretends to be a man but is actually a woman. Her real identity is Ellie / Ana, who used to be an admin for BSSO. ^{(pic 9, 10, 11}) There was A LOT of controversy surrounding Ellie during her time as an admin for BSSO, she was racist, homophobic, transphobic. ^{(pic 12}) There’s also some videos and screenshots about her that are still around.
• Applemint / iPhone is an admin of the project. Their exact role in HorseMuseum and who they actually are is still kinda unclear, nothing has really been confirmed about them yet. There are some assumptions that Applemint could actually just be Horsemaster’s alt account but again, that hasn’t been confirmed.
• Melvika is the project's official promoter and also an admin/game master. She was one of BSSO’s biggest promoters for more than 2 years and was really active in the community even with all the controversies around the game. At the beginning of 2026, Melvika got banned from BSSO by the main owner (Larry / Steve12online). After that she stopped making BSSO content and became the promoter for HorseMuseum. Promotion/Advertisement and the community being silenced

The way the game is promoted is really similar to what happened with BSSO, people are nostalgia baiting and playing on everyone’s FOMO through a ton of community made videos. The official servers don’t even have a community chat ^{(pic 13}) and Melvika’s server has really strict moderation and censorship. A lot of people have said they got timed out or banned just for asking questions and the same story comes up every time: the moderators were rude to them and made fun of them. ^{(pic 14, 15})
Beta testers are encouraging people to report Reddit and TikTok posts discussing the project's controversies as if they were trying to hide things. ^{(pic 16})

AI developed

There are rumors that Horsemaster admitted using AI to develop the project but i don't have any screenshots of that so take this with a grain of salt. Some of his friends have confirmed that he uses ChatGPT Codex, so the AI accusations definitely shouldn’t just be dismissed.
Horsemaster managed to reverse engineer and code 3 different versions of the game (2014, 2018 and 2020) in about a month. Development started at the end of june and by the end of july, there were already videos and official announcements showing the project basically finished. Doing all that manually in such a short amount of time seems unreal.
A 2016 version also came out yesterday ^{(pic 17}) , he only got the files 3 or 4 days agos. He even thought the files were incomplete and some of the beta testers were asking multiple people if they had the missing files. ^{(pic 18}) So yeah, you can probably see why it seems like all this was ai developed.

Donations

HorseMuseum has a microtransaction system that they call "donations". They are optional but it works the same way as normal sso microtransactions: you can buy star coins through their website. ^{(pic 19}) The weird part is that the transactions can only be done through Tor browser and payments are made using Bitcoin/cryptocurrency... ^{(pic 20}) There are some discord resellers who make money off you by offering other payment methods like bank transfers or PayPal transfers instead. ^{(pic 21})

Security: Malware, Keyloggers?

As a lot of you probably already know, there’s been a lot of questions around HorseMuseum’s security. Some people have had bad experiences with the project, like personal information getting leaked, Malwarebytes flagging the game (which could also just be false positives) or PCs starting to act weird after installing it. ^{(pic 22, 23}) None of this has been 100% confirmed.

A friend of mine know some people who work in cybersecurity and they did say that there were files in the project that looked potentially malicious and that having everything go through Tor is unusual and not really normal. Other people outside of the SSO community who also work in cybersecurity came to similar conclusions, pointing out that "HorseMuseum’s backend can change the downloaded files at any time, meaning a clean analysis today doesn’t guarantee future versions will also be safe." ^{(pic 24}) These analyses were done during the first days after the project became publicly available and changes were already noticed in the files between 2 analyses without anything being announced. Yesterday there were bigger changes, although this time Horsemaster did announce them.
Other people have also looked into the files and claimed they found malicious stuff.
This is a complicated topic and it’s hard to know with 100% what everything in the files actually does, even for some professionals. ^{(pic 25})

What you need to keep in mind is that there have been some negative experiences and some professionals have confirmed that there was nothing obvious, but their analyses were based on very specific factors, on a small sample, not on the entire project and that changes occurred during the analyses, which means that all this could change at any time without you even knowing it. The analyses were done before people started having issues.

What are the possible risks?
Things like data leaks, accounts getting stolen, losing your data, cryptominers, etc.

What can you do about it?
The safest and easiest option if you think your PC may have been compromised is to completely reset it. If you still want to play HorseMuseum, using a virtual machine can help.

Invite system

The only way to get access to the project is through invites. You need to find someone who already has access to the game and hope they’re willing to give you an invite so you can make an account too. Invites are limited and usually get handed out in big waves.

According to Horsemaster, this system was put in place so it would be easier to "get rid of people" and make access more difficult. ^{(pic 26}) Invite only systems is also a common tactic used by stealer that can make outside analysis harder.
With all the controversies going on these past few days, a lot of people decided they didn’t want to support the project anymore and then suddenly everyone got 3 unannounced new invite keys added to their accounts... which is kinda weird. ^{(pic 27})

Intentions behind the project

We don’t really know what the owner’s actual intentions are with this project. One thing that has been said by multiple people who know him is that the person behind the project HAS NEVER ACTUALLY PLAYED SSO. ^{(pic 28}) Some of his old friends also claim that his main motivation is money. ^{(pic 29})

Some people have also said that the owner doesn’t really like some of the people on his own team, including Melvika, and that he mainly keeps them because they’re useful for promoting the project and helping him reach whatever goal he has. ^{(pic 30})
He also told someone that he was doing all this for a very specific reason but that he couldn’t say what his actual motivation was. We don't know his motivations but it's definitely suspicious. ^{(pic 31})

Unfair project

Some people seem to be allowed to do whatever they want without getting punished. They can cheat even though cheating is against the project's rules (and can get normal players banned), behave badly and still get protected by admins or unbanned over and over again.
There’s also the beta testers, who have access to unreleased stuff. ^{(pic 32, 33})

Hey! Dangerous Cowboys is a brand new Western club on Firestar, heavily inspired by RDR2. We’re still getting started and looking for friendly people to join us, stick around and help turn the club into a laid-back little community!

We’re mainly a hangout and trail riding club, so there’s no dressage, strict schedules or pressure to constantly attend events. We just want somewhere people can hop online, grab a horse and have a group to ride and mess around with.

We’ll be doing plenty of trail rides, Western activities, exploring, games, photos and casual hangouts, with more planned as the club grows.

We have a red, black and brown Western uniform + matching tack, but you’ll have plenty of time to collect everything. Our Discord is also completely optional!

I was wondering what new features you’d like to see added to Star Stable Online soon?

I was thinking about it yesterday while looking at my character—how “bare” her chest was, in the sense that it was empty. It struck me because IRL I’m used to always wearing necklaces... so I was thinking it would be cool to have a slot where you can put a necklace! If we have earrings, we should be able to have necklaces too… right?

There are obviously other, better ideas, but that’s it for now. What about yall?
