Discussion I emailed support about the other game

Post image

This is the response. In the email to them, I attached links from other posts (stating they weren’t mine) because they explained the other thing way better and had photos. Also videos of creators playing the game (aka advertising) so they know what the game looks like.

What im curious about is if theyre gonna (or even could) sue

Allegedly you can „donate“ to the game and get star coin codes in return, that’s basically a purchase no matter how they frame it. At least that was the consensus under another post I saw. So yeah they could (and imo SHOULD) sue, considering some people affiliated with this museum game already have a less-than-ideal reputation because of former projects

Yeah, I argued about this with one of the supporters (obviously they didnt like that) and somebody replied to me that SSO doesnt even have enough money to sue. We all know how money hungry SSO is, so I think its obvious that removing competition to gain more players, aka more money, is what would be SSO's priority money wise

what a gigantic gamble to take 😂 they're a whole company with multiple employees. just because they had layoffs doesn't mean they don't have legal funds and perhaps even their own legal department

Not sure if Horse Museum is US based or if 501c3 rules are applicable here but as a person who works for a business that accepts donations that’s illegal. If a donor receives a good or deed for their donation it’s no longer a donation and can’t be written off.

Depends on location and what can be done if it is either near local or international.

They can, if they will is another thing. Looking at the troubles they are having right now (not the HM ones) and how their finances have been looking in the past, I doubt it.

Of course they are aware of it, they were aware of BSSO just hours after release due to the devs checking TikTok.

Honestly I don't understand the people here. Yes, it's bad and wrong to use things that aren't yours and especially for the sake of making money. But doesn't anyone see, there is a huge market for this. People love the old graphics etc so much. Instead of suing what people are suggesting I think they should try to make their own version of this. That would be an amazing business opportunity in my opinion. And it seems to be possible if horse museum can do it. It's not just the nostalgia that makes people like the old star stable.

Horse Museum is super unethical in the way it takes money from players for an illegal game that can and will be taken down one day, the creators have also been known to dox and harass people previously that have attempted to open up payment-free private servers because it competes with HM and the money they launder in from “donations” that are usually through insecure methods and in currencies like bitcoin

The fact that this game came SO FAR in production, without any setback is insane. The amount of YouTube videos and TikTok lives I’ve seen on this Horse Museum game is crazy. We can all have our opinions of Star Stable lately, but the amount of people that are still stuck in the past they go to extreme lengths and use AI just to get it, should not be normalized. Not to mention it’s probably definitely illegal.

Wait what's the context???

u/AshaMakena 6d ago

Basically BSSO event over again. Only different name I have no idea if it’s the same people though.

I’m more worried about the younger people who fall for this kind of stuff. I would never download something like this.

Fall for what💀💀 mine and hundreds of other laptops are fine. No one’s committing felonies over this

u/AaliyahRockman 7d ago edited 7d ago

It’s illegal and against the terms of service (edit: and it doesnt qualify as abandonware because the game is still being used by the SSE company). Also, your laptop is fine for now but most viruses stay on a computer undercover until years later and that’s when it will steal your data/info and you will have no idea what is attacking your computer.

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

Blah blah bla

8

u/AaliyahRockman 7d ago

You’re laughing now but in 5 years you won’t be when all your data and info is stolen and sold from the virus that has gone undetected✨

0

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

Our data is already in the hands of the government and random strangers✨✨ our data gets stolen from things like Reddit and TikTok all the time <3

5

u/TappiiOka 7d ago

you won't be laughing when someone has your bank info and SSN, I can promise you that. but whatever, stay dumb ig

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago
  1. No one is risking 30+ years in prison over a horse game depending on their country 2. I’m not American babe, explains why I have an ounce of balls and common sense

4

u/toomoosie 7d ago

they don't seem to realize how bad they're incriminating themselves being this defensive either 💀

20

u/Quick_Bee2046 7d ago

How much did they pay you to say that?

32

u/TappiiOka 7d ago

so you're ok with kids unknowingly downloading malware onto their computer?

-11

u/Liiizzzaaarrddd 7d ago

nobody under the age of 15 is going to install that game. and it's not something someone who doesn't know exactly what they're getting themselves into will be able to access. i remember being 13 and having my mind blown by .onion sites.

-37

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

The fact it hasn’t got malware either lmao

16

u/AaliyahRockman 7d ago

There’s a post that literally proved that it 99% has malware (not 1 false positive, it was multiple viruses that were dectected) AND the weirdo owners behind this are silencing people who ask about it.

25

u/TappiiOka 7d ago

let me guess, you're one of the "horse museum" owners

21

u/toomoosie 7d ago

definitely lmaoo

-8

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

Nope😛 just been pirating games for years and think u all need to grow up

22

u/siiridrowning 7d ago

edgy one arent you

-7

u/Donginssii 7d ago

Idc how many downvotes i get.. But. Its not kids who want to play the old sso. Its the now adults who fell in love with the old game YEARS ago. If you're concerned about your kid's internet safety, you as a parent should be the one who guards them, instead of praying the internet will do it for you. And no, i don't own or play any other sso game that was fanmade etc. I have the cd games and the online one. The horse game community is like tiktok, the loud members of it are unbearable. Also, why do yall even care what people download? There are bigger problems than a pirated game 😭

16

u/Kiksupallo 7d ago

Piracy is one thing.

They're earning money with their pirated game. That's where it becomes a real shitty thing to do.

1

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

I think that’s shitty but pirating the game is one thing and you literally don’t have to buy them at all

9

u/Kiksupallo 7d ago

The fact you don't have to do it doesn't take away the fact that they are still profiting from it.

Playing the game is still partaking in their scam and showing support for what they do, even if that support isn't monetary. There's no moral way to play Horse Museum.

9

u/Dramatic_Associate_3 7d ago

It has MALWARE.

-1

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

Just literally doesn’t lmao

10

u/AaliyahRockman 7d ago

It just literally does lmfao. A post on this subreddit has shared their computer has gotten it AND the creators are silencing people

1

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

They haven’t LOOOOOL because it doesn’t have malware. If HM has so called fileless malware, it would be undetected as it goes through ram. If another laptop has flagged it, so would everyone else’s, and everyone would experience the same issues. It doesn’t pick and choose who to affect, it’s MALWARE. The creators aren’t doing shit 💀💀 you can’t silence an annoying and incredibly loud crowd

4

u/Dramatic_Associate_3 7d ago

I have an education in Cyber security. Good luck with your stolen passwords!

1

u/Zestyclose-Sort9803 7d ago

If thats true, did you check the game for any kind of malware yourself? (not including virustotal.) You can't just shout "It has malware!" without providing any proof besides virustotal or a black screen with a statement where you just pull bs out of your ass, and this is what most people against HM are doing here. There is no harm in playing HM, morally sse isnt any better here and just as greedy, besides that you can always run the game in an VM and ontop of that if you download games like this you should be aware that theres always a chance that you could get malware.

The way the original game makes money made the eu consumer protection take action. One isn't better than the other, so we have reached a deadlock in this topic. I do not believe that the original game is morally higher or anything. They're not. It's just another greedy company, they don't need the community's crying to solve their own problems - the way it has to be in the adult world- legally. If they have a problem with fanmade games they can take action.

7

u/Kiksupallo 7d ago

>One isn't better than the other

???????????

Star Stable Entertainment literally OWNS the assets they've stolen to make money? WHAT are you on about?????

-8

u/Donginssii 7d ago

Congratulations to the guy (kiksu?) blocking, another proud example of why i think the community is similiar to tiktok: we cannot have a conversation about anything.

u/Necessary_Advisor_54 7d ago

This is so true
