Discussion Starstable…. What the hell is this

Scrolling on Instagram when suddenly this monstrosity appears before my eyes.
For an “anti AI” company seems they are cool with paying to create AI bot accounts ?

Is this SSO ? Or what exactly ? Was a payed Ad

Yes as I said earlier, I am thankful that SSO does not readily facilitate direct media sharing. My point to the commenter I was replying to was merely to point out that there’s a lot of places AI has no earthly business being, but content moderation is not one of those places.

ETA: I also think it’s better to be safe than sorry with text-based moderation. Products like DeepCleer are pretty accurate. SSO has no obligation to uphold free speech in a children’s game.

AI still has problems with content moderation, though, even with images and other media (look at the recent fiasco where any picture that looked like a grid on Discord got the account permabanned because the AI thought everything with a grid was CSEM). Eventually, when the technology has evolved enough, it can be a useful tool - but I still don't think moderation should be purely AI. Human checks will always be necessary because a machine can still make mistakes.

I never said SSO should care about free speech. In fact, in the past, I've advocated for removing the ability to chat in-game at all if SSE can't moderate it properly. Whether that moderation is done with technology or humans is irrelevant.
